-Vader Reborn- Saber NBV3
« on: October 21, 2016, 12:39:08 PM »
Hey guys!
A month ago I was contacted in order to build a saber for a friends partner's birthday, who is a massive fan of star wars and specifically Darth Vader. I explained that I do not copy designs as I like to build original sabers so we decided to go ahead with an original design that has been inspired by Darth Vader's original weapon.
Below is the final result and I must say I am very happy with how it turned out!

Specs:
Custom machined
NB V3
Tri Cree XPE2 RR with W clash
2W speaker
Black anodizing and mild weathering
Illuminated switch

Looking forward to your thoughts!
Many thanks for looking

That, my friend, is just beautiful. The etching around the pommel looks so clean and I like those vents. Is it a trick of the lighting or does the grip taper?

Love it.  Big Vader fan here and it's been a while since I have seen someone do a Vader inspired hilt.  The weathering is spot on and you even went and made the anodizing look weathered which is a very nice touch.  The grip looks a bit out of place since it looks so shiny but maybe that was your plan.

Very nice work.

Yap it does taper slightly no light trick there  :azn:

I did think it was a bit too shiny myself
My initial reasoning was to keep the chrome look/effect of the original saber but if I could go back and redo it I think I might have weathered it slightly/anodize it grey maybe

I was just being nitpicky I guess.  That small item does not detract from the overall scheme and execution of the saber.  Still think it's a homerun.
