So, what has LDM been up to?
« on: November 03, 2015, 09:49:54 PM »
Building sabers of course!

As most of the forums have become inundated by the fly-by-night, the IP thieves and the shingle hangers, I have moved most of my commissions to my own site.  Why have to explain 10 times per week why my sabers are "better" than someone's who is still learning to solder or thinks that large lamp parts make sabers desirable?  Why answer the, "Why is your saber more expensive? Can't we negotiate?" questions all the time?  I see no reason to.  Of course, those who want the best will always patronize those of us whom they KNOW will give them a quality product and many are Fx regulars so I still do work for a number of folks here.  The "can you build me a uber blinkified monstrosity" crowd can patronize someone else.  Oh and yes, I completely realize the that the fact that craze came into being is in large part my doing and for that I apologize to anyone with good taste...to anyone who actually still believes that a replica saber ought to have the correct color blade.  Here is a smattering of my work recently as I have eclipsed 900 sabers and will pass 1000 by February 2016. Yeah, and make sure to watch at least the first video.  It is a pretty awesome saber ;)

Great work, general. Enjoyed watching some of your videos… just too much to go through in one sitting.

LOL, that is definitely true.  That is like an hour of viewing right htere.  Since the titles are just posted and you guys can't see the preview pix of the videos themselves it makes it a little difficult to figure out which to watch.  The only real "Earth-shattering" one is the MKIII Reveal.  The others are various versions of "Product sabers" or Cane Sabers (which is a product line now).

The reveal core look very impressive. Was also wondering how you got the main LED light through the narrow neck or if there is another inside the emitter since the blade looks pretty bright.

If you haven't done a reveal crystal core for the MKVI (which I'm not sure) , would like to see that feature in your Luke sabers.

Tri-Rebels or Tri-Crees work well to make MKIII's bright enough.  I have done (all are posted here on Fx) a number of Reveal MKVI's.

The cane saber is such a great idea, I love unique things like that.

Thanks.  Since I made the original more than a decade ago they have continued to be in high demand,

That Revan reborn looks amazing!  Amazing work as always.  But I can't believe you did not include the Vindican in your videos

I may have to discuss having a Reborn done myself. Keep up the great work!
