Yeah, that LED is being over-powered. You need a 3.9ohm 5W resistor for the 2 3.6V li-ions. So you may need to pick one of those up...

There you go. You may need to order a new Lux 3 cyan while you are at it, if you fried your LED...

i will have to pick one up. my led is still working fine.

what buckpuck would it need a 1000mA or a 700mA?

I sent to you a mail to yahoo, is a file pdf with all the information of luxeon in his different colors!! I do not know like attach this file to the forum, if you know please raise it.
also I attached a calculator of resistors, with this one and the specifications of the luxeon you can extract everything what you need!!

a 2.3 Watt capable or greater 4.7 ohm resistor is this right?
