CFX Neopixel too dim
« on: September 14, 2019, 06:25:56 PM »
My blade brightness is incredibly dim. I have tested the blade on another saber and it works great but as soon as I use it on my new saber, the voltage at the blade end drops to 1.8v. I have tested all the pins on the hilt side and they are a steady 3.8v. My battery is fully charged. It is a KeepPower 18650 3120mah 15a continuous. On the board, I am getting 4.03v at the main battery connection and 3.73v on all 4 LS pads. Someone else on another forum is having the same problem I am having. I am stumped.

What kind of wiring do you have going to the hilt side adapter?

Your blade doesn’t seem to be the issue.

I find your arguments vague and unconvincing.

24 gauge. I am using the 11 pin tcss connector. I have two wires going for each power, negative, and data.

How many pixels? Are they wired as two strips in parallel or are they in series?

if the voltage to the strip is low, you seem to have a wring issue, possibly on the blade connector. Also try with the strip negative returning to the main negative and not to the L- (drivers) to rule out StripPower.

I wired to the main negative and that solved the issue. So when in deep sleep, power will still be going to the blade, correct?

Correct. You probably had a short in the wiring of the 4 L-.
