Here it is, Folks.... the second themed saber of 2010 from Gemini Concepts!
THE EMERALD KNIGHT
Logan approached us about a month ago wanting a Green Lantern Themed saber.
Being a big GL & DC fan myself, I jumped at it. The minute I read his PM, I had
tons of ideas for this one. With Logan's guidance, we exchanged a few renders and
got started on it.
The saber is running a Master Replica's Darth Maul board with a 6v battpack to a LuxIII
green LED and 2 ultrabrite green accent LED's which shine on a quartz crystal (provided
by Ri-On Ozryel). The MHS pieces are PC'd in Black Magic and the shrouds are handcut, each
with a vintage GL logo and PC'd in Green Transmetal.
The illuminated green ring black latching switch was purchased from a local PC shop and
I think we fit it in the design nicely. The total length of the saber is 13.5 inches long and
the MJ MHS sleeve really balances out the saber.
Special thanks to Arkai Halon for the special GL saber stand and bladeplug disk.

Man this saber is full of 'win'. I love how the switch looks like the green lantern symbol, as well as the light up effects that appear like it as well. Definetly a fun saber to own.

:o Another well executed concept saber. The pc colors look great! Nice flow on the shroud. I love how you incorporated the GL logo into it and used the lighted A/V switch to illuminate it.

What can I say about this one... :o 8) :D 8) :o
Well let's start with thank you so very much guys.
The GL mythos has always been a particular favorite of mine... A group of individuals as diverse as the universe they protect, coming together for a common good. Not unlike the Jedi Order in many ways. I also love the concept that the power a Green Lantern wields is limited only by their imagination, focus, and most of all WILL.
When I approached Gemini Concepts about this saber I knew I the project was in good hands, given their considerable talents. But when Master Jedye PM'd me and I learned what a huge GL fan he was.... well, I knew then that I hit the jackpot. The process of development/communication on this saber was an absolute joy for me.
One of the first things MJ asked me was if I wanted this saber to reflect a particular GL... to which I responded, "1 part Hal Jordan / 1 part Kilowog". Shaken well and served neat equals AWESOME! The Emerald Knight, for me.. carries the " Go where Angels fear to tread nature of Hal, mixed seamlessly with the "Daddy's Here Poozers!" nature of Kilowog. 8) And beyond that I think is a wonderful representation of the GLC as a whole.
Needless to say, I am very eager to take this saber for a test drive.
Again, Mogo sized thanks to Master Jedye and Chewbacca of Gemini Concepts for all their hard work on this saber. You guys truly have gone above and beyond on this one fellas.
Also thanks to Arkai for your amazing stand and GL badge saberplug! By the way, that part of this project is a total surprise to me... and a most welcome one! ;D
And lastly thanks to Ri-On for the quartz crystal used in this mastepiece!

In fact, I had a pretty good idea of what the stand would look like before I started working on the render for the saber. lol Kudos to Kevin of Halon Customs!
And Rion always sends us quality crystals. Clear enough to use but with just enough flaws to still look organic. Thanks Rion!
