Saber's looking good there jp!

Those chokes are nice aren't they?  I admit they do add some length to the hilts but the look is awesome.

I have noticed though that some bladeholders just look funky with the chokes...

I figured since I was asmembling this on my own I'd make my own blade. So I bought a 1" thick-walled ($13), 2 wraps of TCSS film ($7.50), a mirror (.31), and a tip ($4). I rolled my 2 stock MR FX Maul blades (saved myself $20) and they look good as well.

As long as you are running a puck the LED will make the blade look good (IMHO).

The only problem with this hilt is that as of right now the balance point is about 2" up on the blade. I was thinking of putting a ROTJ control box (since I bought 6 complete boxes and haven't used any yet) on the back though so that might balance it out a little better. Although I like the clean look...

"Clouded this boy's future is."

DT-- If it weren't for these chokes I don't think I would have started building these sabers. As far as the different blade holders looking funny goes -- we may just have to see. :)

Finished "Yellow Blade" prodject, I bolted a Luke ROTJ control box to the bottom (which helped balance the blade, thankfully):

Anyways, Thanks again guys--

Update:
Stick a fork in her-- she's done. I wired up another FX sound card, only I bypassed the led leads on the card and crammed the 1000mA puck in there. It still has the same K2 white LED. I sanded and painted the hilt and control box with flat black paint (4 coats). and here she is.

Try that out JP, if you want to get the balance point nearer the emitter  ;)

The saber is looking great

Thanks man (Aluke)

I ordered two more MHS last night:

The short one is based on a 3" hilt with a driven LUX III -- and a 26" thin walled TCSS defused blade and mirror (It's for my toddler).

The one below is a 4" double female with the 4" ribbed extention and choke  -- 36" thick walled TCSS defused blade with mirror, and will have a CF board with a K2.

Well... your right I guess. I am done with MR FX / Hasbro FX sabers though. MHS sabers and the smell of solder are like crack to me. Tim puts up a new part aadn my my brain kicks into overdrive... the next thing I know, my wallet is 100 bucks lighter.

I bought a Harbor Frieght lath too... :)

It's mostly for my rifle stuff/ rebreather stuff (I make KISS type rebreathers as another hobby) but I think I could do some damage to the MHS---by Beckster-izing them. :)

KISS= Keep It Simple Stupid  ;D

Two more sabers to add:
First one is my son's 4" hilt (main housing) it's a undriven LUX III, with a 4AAA battery sled, and 26" thin walled stock FX blade with mirror on tip (hey it makes a difference).
