Well I just seen and got to fondle a Luke ROTJ..
Man its agood looking fx..the blade was brighter then I expected,but still not as brite as I hoped.
It was also REAL low in volume.
It`s weight felt just right though.
But 1 thing that this saber has that excels over all other fx is the crash sound detection.
You can flick it and it will sizzle,its soo sensitive....
I don`t understand how a 1st gen saber has better clash sensitivity the a 2nd or 3rd?
But after seeing a green saber in person I will no doubt order the new Luke rotj from boarders.

How did the ElectroLuminecent blade look compared to the LEDs
Did it seem compareable to a Parks saber in terms of strength?

The blade was nice but lcd will be SOOO much better..
Also it seemed like it would break real easy,thats probably why the clash detection worked so good,they don`t want you to hit it hard. ..

well I've seen now the video of the modifed luke's saber with green leds.....now I'm convinced....I'll get one of them as soon as they are available :D

I've just seen the video in the downloads section of the modified Luke ROTJ with LEDs, and it looks totally fake to me. Sorry, I'm just sceptical.

even if it is fake, i would think that the LED Saber would look quite like that "modified" saber. If it does, it would probably be one saber i would consider buying... (in other words, get a better job and reel in some more Ca$h)...

the Luke ROTJ saber i saw DEFINATELY looked aqua... just like this video in the main site's downloads page...

They should have use the Lime Green EL wire. instead of Aqua.

Yes, the lime green EL wire has about the same brightness as a red strand of LEDs

Yes from online picts I've seen, the lime green is the EL way to go.
I hope the new one will be compareable.
Especially since it will be for my wife.

Superbright 2.5mm Lime EL wire is probably what I'm going to use when I try to make my own lightsaber. I've got an idea for the extending/retracting light effects too. If it works, it'll look great and be duel-able!

I just received my gen 1 ROTJ Luke. I would say that the colour of the blade isn't as aqua looking as it does in pictures don't get me wrong it isn't a strong green and Lime EL would have been much better but it isn't as bad as it appears in pics. The sound card is similar to the ANH Vader different sounds obviously but the sound pattern is near identical IE when you swing the saber the sound stops and restarts when you swing it in a different direction a flaw that was fixed for the ESB Luke fortunately
For anyone who just wants a saber i wouldn't recommend it. There really just for the fx saber collector with the new gen 3's available. I'm definitely getting the LED update though as it is a great looking hilt even with the fat neck.

I just watched the video that uberjedi posted.(thanks) I won't be buying it. Its totally aqua. I don't see how it could look greener in person, its just too blue. :-\
