RGB String Blade
« on: March 20, 2016, 03:55:34 PM »
I've started doing string blades recently. I like the consistency of the light all the way through the blade much better than with a cree star. The problem is that I can build a lightsaber with a cree star with RGB to make any color. LED string blades do not have that advantage.

Has anyone tried making an RGB string blade? Since it has 4 legs, I'm imagining the ladder would have to be like a cage.

Would love to see ideas and pics.

Makoto SuperOne 5 color LED string saber - YouTube
Makoto made one. It's order tech, and uses a rotary switch to change the colors.

I don't suppose he posted pics anywhere of how the string itself was built  ...

i am honestly considering doing this this weekend. well starting one since a friend of mine wants me to build him a lightsaber nunchucks (light up handles for showy effects) and if i have luck ill show how i did it. I dont suspect it will be to hard other than keeping the pattern and  the fit of 4 legs. This is assubimg i have enough common anode RBG leds on hand for a 8 inch segment.
