Title: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS EBAY SELLER!!! (Update 6-9-2007)
Post by: Kyp Durron on June 01, 2007, 07:15:41 AM
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1&viewitem=&item=150107641840&rd=1

On April 7th, I paid for a MR .45 Luke ESB Lightsaber and they sent me the tracking # and all it said was Electronic Info recieved. That was on April 11th.

I tried emailing them several times and they never responded. I opened up a dispute and after 3 weeks of them not responding, I closed the dispute and let Ebay deal with them, if they will at all.

I left negative feedback knowing that they will do the same, but it's been nearly TWO FREAKING MONTHS and still no item!   >:( >:( >:(

So when I closed the dispute, I let them know that I would be posting this on every prop forum that I am a member of.

So consider yourselves warned, this guy rips people off on occasion so if you do business with them, you are rolling the dice and taking your chances!

I don't know what to say.   I bought from them with out a problem.  Maybe this is just an unlucky isolated incident.  Sorry to hear this though.

If you look through their feedback, you will see other sellers leaving negative feeback saying that it had been a month or more and no item. :-\

So I don't think of this as an isolated incident.

Maybe I just got lucky.  Well for your sake I hope everything turns out for the best with this.

Well, I've already cut my losses, and left them negative feedback knowing that I will receive the same. That, and I am posting this thread in several other sites too.

No. Due to a Payroll error, I didn't have the money to pay for it last Friday. I will be overnighting the money order to him so he gets it by tomorrow. I should have it sometime next week for sure now! :)

That is too bad.  I have dealt with them a couple of times before and never had a problem, though I have heard a couple of times now of something like this happening.  I hope that's not where I recently ordered my Luke ESB mini saber.

That's why I do two things when dealing with people on ebay, or out of ebay, after having gotten scammed ONCE on Ebay and once on HERE:

1) ALWAYS pay through paypal.  I have NEVER had any problem getting my money back when I demanded the refund.

2) I never deal with people with less than 99.0% Ebay rating.  Also, if they are a "POWERSELLER" I look at their total transactions over the course of a month, 6months, and year and if their negative and neutral feedbacks equal 10% of their total feedbacks....I don't deal with them at all.

Hope you are able to get your money back Master Danva.

I've almost bought from Sphiatt several times now but I never have because (Much like ToyNK on EBAY) they state within their item descriptions that the item may not necessarily be in stock. That seriously bothers me. How can you sell something that you might not have? Given the problems some people have had with ToyNK I've avoided Sphiatt like the plague. Thanks for posting this!

I'm with DARTH VADER. I always pay via PayPal as well and I never deal with anyone with less that 99% ratings.

I hope you get your money back!!

This is why I don't like using Ebay that often. There's just too much trust involved. Thankfully all I've still got out there from EBAY right now is a .33 Stormtrooper blaster (That I got for 20$ shipped!!) that I'll hopefully have show up next week.

i agree with my fellow members......

paypal is the ONLY way to go.

I've never dealt with this eBay Seller, nor will I now. I mean, I have specific ones I deal with basically and that is it. Besides, being from Canada, I can't bid from this guy anyway. As for Toynk, I had one issue with them, because of them stating one thing in their auction and the actual item not being it. PayPal dealt with them and all was cool. In fact, I even got my Ani ROTS LE from them no issues. I don't know the background on Sphiatt, so I cannot comment.

But like Master Kolar and Darth Vader state, use PayPal. Besides, Money Orders are non-refundable (At least here in the sticks) and Credit Cards charge their interest rates.

You don't have to worry about the seller leaving you negative feedback.  One person did that to me but ebay immediately retracted the feedback since I won the claim dispute.

Man, I wish I had posted something like this last Nov.

I purchased an Obi Wan From Sphiatte and waited a whole month. Nothing. Site said it would ship items within a week and said they would respond to emails. Well, he wouldn't respond to my emails and I finally had to wind up filing a claim to get my $ back.

Once I did that and left him neg FB, then he was all emailing me trying to get me to take back the neg FB. I wouldn't do it, though. He even left me neg FB in response saying: "Beware, buyer hard to please." I don't know what his definition of pleasing customers is, but not shipping the item one payed for and not responding to numerous email inquiries after a months time does not  equate to "reasonable" business practices in my mind.  I wound up buying my Obi Wan thru Target on Amazon instead.

Again, I wish I would have made a thread here after it happened, but it slipped my mind. Sorry, Joclad :-\

Master Danva, I too have had an issue with this seller. Mine was not for any SW items though. I "bought" a complete set of Bubblegum Crisis Hardsuit V1 figures from them about 9 months ago. They cost me a lot ( $125 for 4 import figures plus $25 for shipping ).

They NEVER sent the figures or responded to any email I sent (about 20 over 2 months). I filed trough ebay and Paypal, got my money back and dropped a negative feedback, which they didn't reply to thankfully.

I simply won't deal with them anymore, even though at times I am tempted by some of their prices on FX's.

I agree with my fellow posters here; Paypal is a must for online transactions. You're pretty much guaranteed your money back in instances like these. :)

I've actually been screwed by paypal before.  I purchased a Elite ROTJ saber for $800 on ebay, and even told the seller it would be awhile to send payment since I wanted to do it through paypal so it would be secure.  A week later I sent the payment, and waited 1 month never got the saber.  This user had 100+ feedback and only had 1 negative ever.  Unfortunately paypal only reimbursed me $200, well actually $175 because of their fee.  Needless to say I was really mad at the user and at ebay.

Post by: Darth Raijlin on June 01, 2007, 11:45:56 AM
That's odd.  I had $600 returned to me by PayPal before when I was purchasing a set of Japanese O-yoroi Armor so I could fight in it for SCA Combat.

I wonder how they determine how much you get back?
Title: Re: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS EBAY SELLER!!!

My problem occured right when ebay decided on how their policy would work.  I paid through paypal because it said protected up to $1000.  However when I filed the complaint they implemented the policy of cashback based on feedback.  Meaning if you had 100+ and were a member for a year you got up to $2000 coverage.  This user was on for 7 months so only $200 was covered.

He's left feedback like that for EVERYONE who never got an item and left him negative feedback.

Screw this, I am sticking this thread.

I tried that. Didn't work. That guy's a scam artist and leaves neg FB for anyone who doesn't appreciate his dishonesty knowing full well he can get away with it because it is so hard to get neg FB withdrawn from ebay. Just went to his site to check out the FB comments and I'm pissed! I only have 1 neg FB point and it's from this crook!

You need to put a reply comment to his - on your feedback. Something like. He got paid I got riped off and - feedback what an A@@. That's the best you can do if it doesn't get removed. ;)

You know,

Killphil, Joclad, and others that have been screwed with by this guy could always pursue action with ebay to get his REGISTERED EBAY NAME taken away   :)

If you notice....since my little escapade with ScarletKiss/justsewsimple and her bad business with me and a bunch of others,  she is no longer a REGISTERED EBAY member.

Once people see that, they are loathe to do business with the person after that.  If enough people petition and show cause to ebay, ebay can shut their business down.

Just a thought you might want to pursue.  Made me feel much better when I saw Randi's Registered Name stripped   :)

I would absolutely love that. Unfortunetly I did report this person to ebay and I know many others have as well. I was contacted by other members who were burned by Sphiatte right after I left my neg FB.

Unfortunetly with the volume he sells, his ratio of bad transactions just isn't that high, and it seems ebay doesn't take notice.

Very corrupt if you ask me. He can screw you over and still leave people neg FB to screw them over even further. And he lies. He uses stock answers. He knows we try to contact him thru every means possible, yet his most common rebuttel is: "why didn't you email me?"

It just isn't right. Go over the FB list of his. Set it to 200 posts a page and then you'll see just how corrupt he really is. It's a shame.

15 Negatives in past month (1 from TODAY)
180 Negative In past 6 months
426 Negative in past 12 months

That's a bit excessive...

The amount of NF leads me to believe that he may have shillers that are there to boosts his positives. I haven't looked at his customer list, but this maybe the answer. It was big when PS3 came out, and it wouldn't be surprising if this was the case. Just my opinion folks.

I have had a couple of purchases from this e-bay seller in the past, and fortunately they went fairly smoothly.

After reading this, I will not make any further purchases from this seller.

I am truly sorry that you were burned by this seller and, as far as I am concerned, your message has convinced me not to do business with individuals like this.

I am in a business that deals with the public, and simply stating that a customer is "hard to please" is ridiculous as an excuse for poor customer service.

Yes there are customers that are hard to deal with, but that goes with the territory, and pleasing them is what differentiates good merchants from bad ones.

Thanks again for the heads up!

Your item was shipped and I have the tracking number that was printed from that shipment but it is not showing as delivered which usually means it was damaged or lost in the mail. I have re-sent one today through priority mail. You will receive an email with that shipping information. Here is the link for feedback removal if you wish to remove both ends of feedback once you have received the item. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MFWRequest

Well, this is interesting indeed. I guess he didn't like that reply I gave to his negative feedback as it clearly tells anyone who reads it that I paid this guy and 2 months later still have no item. Or it could be something else....

Either way, I replied saying that when I receive the item that I would remove the feedback if he removes his from mine.

I will update when all is said and done and let everyone know.

I am so sorry to hear about the robbery!  We had that happen to us several years back.  They were very selective and only took specific items, many of which would have been hard to find.  We (and the police) felt it was someone who worked in our appartment complex and would have been in the appartment for inspections/maintenance reasons, since there was very little of the rest of the appartment disturbed.

I hope you manage to recover some of what you lost!

3 days before we were robbed the apartment that was the mirror image of ours was robbed (so we had a funny feeling we were next anyway). When they robbed the other apartment they laid out all of that guy's buisiness suits and only took the "good" labels. Same thing with his clothing. The left all the rest. As for us, they did it at noon and I think they got interrupted since they had a lot more packed up and ready to go.  They did the same sort of thing with us too, for example, they took my wifes bicycle (which was a really nice Schwinn) but they did not take mine (which is an old beat up piece of garbage).  They also DID NOT take my computer which was very odd considering they took almost everything else electronic...  Who knows. I just hope we don't have to go through that again. We were most worried about our cat (who was a 3 month old kitten at the time) being gone because they literally removed both the front and back doors and doorframes with crowbars. Thankfully nothing happened to him and we found him huddled in a ball under a couch scared to death.

Back on subject though...EBAY always worries me for just these reasons. Right now I've got something on the way that I won on June 8th. According to the seller (who greatly apologized for taking 2 weeks to send it) it was sent 5 days ago so I'm really hoping it shows up early next week.
