A Sith Planet EL become a Luxeon!! 8)
-
Thats AMAZING :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Thank you for posting this for me Luke :)
Yes the Larbel EL now Goes Luxeon LED...
Much brighter than any EL and a rare addition to my Luxeons.
I've checked other places and I do believe this is the First one to be done so far ;)
It requires having a Larbel Hilt with the Parks electronics already installed so you get
all the right sizes for mounting the components in there.
It also uses a fitted on/off switch that you'll re use.
What I did is cut down the EL "stalk" and fit an LED on a heatsink with an adapter
tube around it, to keep it all in place.
It is powered by 4 AAAs down in the hilt which left no real room for a MR sound board but
you could get one in there if you used a smaller Lithium battery possibly.
I test fit a board I have and it's okay but it's still very crowded and no where to easily get the
sound "out" of the hilt with out serious drilling into that solid pomel.
and I didn't want to ruin it experimenting so...
... I've got more than enough sound making sabers around anyway and let this be a quiet but brightly
lit Saber I can turn on in the middle of the night with out waking anyone up.
Well except for that Blue Glow coming from my back yard :D
Enjoy the Pict and as of course...
May The Force Be With You
always

That is an AMAZing piece of work Master Yoda, you've really done yourself proud with this :)
-
Thanks Ben... a Lightsaber from your younger years... a more civilized era 8)
I cut a few fingers doing this one but it was worth it :D
-
Wow you got done with that quick! Top quality as usual :)
-
WOW :o :o :o
That is so tight looking,10 out or 10!!
-
Fantastic looking saber,Yoda. 8)
The standard of the craftsmanship looks superb. Very impressive.
I wish MR would make the Obi-Wan TPM saber, it is definately one of my favourite designs. ;)
I suppose I will have to wait quite sometime before that happens, though. :(
It's a shame you couldn't get sound into it, but you could always figure out a way to do that later on.
Will you be making any more to sell, BTW?
-
Looks very nice!!!!
Also i would love to see a Qui gon jinn larbel converted to Luxeon
-
absolute stunning really really nice, best looking conversion i have seen TBH.
i think the stand looks awesome too.
-
Wow - stunning!!
So is "Larbel" a saber builder who collaborated with Parks? It's the first time I've hard the name...
-
Wow.. that does look great. *Waves hand across your face* You don't really need that though.. you will sell it to me cheap. ;D
-
Wow - stunning!!
So is "Larbel" a saber builder who collaborated with Parks? It's the first time I've hard the name...
All Larbels were sent to parks for electronics installation.
I'm working on the adapter to convert those to LEDs but they may not all be the same , hence it will
make for a lot of "custom" applications.
The Quigon will be most difficult :P but will be attempted eventually.
The Obiwan as you can see worked well and has plenty of possibilities for improvement with sound etc...
But it's not easy and that translates to expensive.
Oh and todd... mind tricks don't work on me, I'm YODA :D LOL
Thanks for the Compliments... I wasn't easy but it came together well and is very durable now 8)
-
Stupid picture wont load all the way for me. :'(
-
Sycor I emailed you the Pict! ;)
You should see it shortly ( i'm at work right now so don't respond to the email :D)
-
purdy ;D
-
wow Yoda touche man, that is beautiful.
-
yoda that is freakin sweet!!!!!!! :)
-
Thank you for the compliments everyone :)
Very appreciated.
It's a lot of work doing a good conversion any saber builder like TCSS Corbin or ULTRA can tell you that ;)
But they are so worth it when they are done 8)
-
Wow
I;d love to get my hands on one of those
Damned amazing
-
So now you guys see why you should buy from Master Yoda, he's the lightsaber specialist. I'm looking forward in my Luke ANH built by a real Jedi. Excellent masterpiece Master Yoda, the Force is strong with you.
-
Very nice job Master Yoda!!!
-
Ohhh, very nice Yoda
-
Master Yoda also does some customizing works as well
He's changed the LED color in my Luke ANH and I can't wait to get it back
and all at a reasonable price as well :)
-
I'm not sure how i missed this topic but that is truely amazing Yoda:)
If what i hear is correct having a Obi TPM FX next year is going to be awesome as well to have converted to a luxeon :D
-
Thank you for the compliments everyone...
The MR version will be sightly bigger I'm sure, there will obviously be room for sound. ;)
Till then, this remains a unique conversion 8)
Along with the Obiwan ANH I did from a Parks Hilt for Luke Skywalker here on in the forum.
Because of the parks hilts they both use the 3/4th blades but still looked great because of the
corbin film.
But, it will be nice to have it as the 1inch blade once MR gets around to it :D
-
Great job! Master yoda! It really looks like the real deal.DaJoQuim
-
not too unique ;)
I have a Larbel Obi-Wan luxeon conversion by JSS.
:)
I'm going to have to change the battery soon and I have no idea how.
I'm afraid to take it apart, I'll have to email him for instructions.
hahaha
I was going to display it next to my MR EE Obi-Wan TPM edition, but I thought it would look
funny having two full-size next to the mini when I was trying to just display my FXs next
to their mini-counterpart, so I figured I'll try selling the EE and keeping the Larbel conversion.
I asking less for the EE than I paid for the Larbel. ::) My first Larbel was an EL conversion done by, I think it was
sithplanetusa. ended up selling it to buy two more Larbel Obi-Wans (unconverted), then traded one and some $$$ to JSS
for the luxeon converted one and gave the last Larbel to my brother as a birthday present.

Nice!!
And nice VF-0's you have there too. ;) I just got my first one Friday the VF-0S and it was floppy so I used hot glue in a few spots and it's very sturdy and I can always remove the glue without any damage if I ever want to transform it. But since I was gonna display it in fighter mode anyways it's no big deal. [/End Off-Topic Post] :P :D

That's right Chowser I forgot about yours :D
Youre right it was unique for about a month and then you got yours done.
But at least they are the only 2 out there so far. ;)
I believe yours has th 1inch blade right?
anyway to get the battery out you'll want to unscrew the covertech beltclip wheel
and the bottom pommel will slide out.
You may need to remove the sleeve to get you fingers in ther and push it down
(becareful as the edges in there are sharp!
That should do it but you can always email him or send me picts and I can help walk you through
it I'm sure ;).
-
Chowser
My offer still stands on the recharge port for your TPM.
JSS

Where can i get an EP1 Obiwan saber anyhow?
-
I hope you can do a Luxeon version on my Qui-gon EL Yoda I should running out of film so I can get the pics developed anytime :P
-

There is a guy on the RPF selling a Larbel Obi EL right now. Anakin Starkiller I believe is his username
-

Hmmm I'd do this just to have been able to do the Quigon ;)
I had one but it was the wrong type.
If it has the rounded body where the slats are actually just grooved into it I may be able to do something.
Th ones that are actually cut like the Prop with the slats cut through are not because there is no where
to put anything other than a 9volt battery.
The Round body EL's are very rare so be sure it's the right one, just PM me and I'll take a look at your picts. ;)
do be aware, it won't be until after C4 and after i get through a few Graflexs that I can get to it IF it's the right
type 8)
-
the slots aren't that deep and it does have room for a 9-volt.Sorry it's taking so long I don't take a lot of pics.I'd say the slots are about 1/8 deep.I'm in no hurry and the only con I'm going to is Dragon con. It's the only one I could get the days off for
-
It sounds like you may have the right one ;)
If the slotting is running around the circumference of the inner saber as opposed to through it
then it should be do able 8)
But pictures I will still need in order to say for sure ;)
Besure and take the picts outside in plenty of light so I can see into the chamber and disassemble
what ever parts you can so I can see as much as possible.
Also let me know a time frame of when you'll need it by and we can go from there :)
-
VERY NICE!!! Being new to the whole thing I am more than impressed by your skill and creativity! I can only hope that my skills will become as great as your are. Take this for what it is worth from a humble Padawan!
-
Jeeze! Now I really can't wait until I buy a SithPlanet Obi TPM and have XWing convert to have Crystal Focus!
-
I'm a little late but are you sure that those are Larbel?
I have a Larbel EL Obi-Wan saber that I bought directly from him before he stopped selling sabers and it looks a lot different than that. The one in the pic looks more like a Parks or Sith Planet.
Tha Larbel has deeper cuts in the handle, the black sections are not glossy looking and at the time the electronics offered were from lightech industries(I think that's the name) not Parks.
The Parks/Sith Planet doesn't really have any depth in the cuts on the handle and looks more like the pics here.
Because of the deeper cuts on the handle the blade has a smaller plug on it than the other lightech blades, they were made special just for the Larbel sabers.
I'm pretty sure lightech industries doesn't make EL sabers or Blades anymore though.
Here are pics I found on another site that shows what the Larbel looks like http://www.crazyoldwizards.com.ar/forum/printer_friendly_posts.asp?TID=45 (http://www.crazyoldwizards.com.ar/forum/printer_friendly_posts.asp?TID=45)
I can try to get a pic of my EL larbel next to my Parks/Sith Planet when I get a chance.
-
I have one of the Larbel's like the one Yoda converted, pictured at the start of the thread. It came with a Parks blade (I wouldn't know what distinguishes the Parks internals, mind) and came with a stand that has a couple of LEDs in the base to light the vinyl and a plaque with "Star Wars/Episode I: The Phantom Menace/Obi-Wan Kenobi/-Larbel EL Lightsaber-/Limited Edition: 1999/2500".
I did think it may be a Parks when I first got it on account of what I'd read about the Larbel's having the deeper grip grooves.
I'm guessing that it's down to variations in different runs from Larbel, but not 100% on that. I did see a pic of an Parks EL Obi Wan from Vortextwist on the forums here that had some differences to my Obi-Wan in the emitter area.
I also owned a stunt version from Sithplanet before this which had the deeper grooves and was 3/4" hollow from emitter to pommel, with the inner area of the emitter around the blade-hole recessed. I've also heard that some of the stuff Sithplanet has sold is Parks, which doesn't help.
I think you're right about Lightech - they have a nice line in Blade Runner-style lit umbrellas though!
The bottom line is, I'm just happy to have a very nice lightsaber :D
-
Very nice craftsmanship!
-
Andthis is why we call him "Grand Master" Yoda, sickly sweet saber..... ;) The Force is With him.....
-
Some fotos would be nice?
-
Heads up Knibbsy, the last post before yours was from 7 years ago.

THose images are gone because the member who posted them for me years ago isn't here any more
