Review on Rebelscum of the X-wing prototype
« on: December 04, 2008, 08:07:58 AM »
Hey all...

Philip Wise, the webmaster of both Rebelscum.com and Theforce.net, has put up a mini-review and a ton of pictures of the eFX X-wing prototype, which can be found here:

X-wing Prototype Review

He also stated that eFX is aiming for a pre-sale date of Dec. 11th, although eFX has not confirmed this yet.

Wish I could drop the cash for one of those. But that is a definite "Put me in the DOG House" item....

Impressive to say the least! Some people got skills!

Oh my.  good thing I limit my collecting to books, dvds, cds - hush, I know all about iPods - and skinny glowy stick things (as my li'l sis calls them) THAT DON'T TAKE UP MUCH ROOM.

If I started collecting these things, I'd have to sleep in the hall leading to my apartment, cause there'd be no room for me!

I'm trying to figure out where the heck I'm going to display it  :-\

I'll be trying to buy one whenever the pre-sale starts. The wife gave me the ok. She's known for almost 2 years that this was the only studio scale sized item I ever wanted so she's more or less ok with it. I had to make a few concessions though. She gets a shopping spree this winter on clothes and I'll redo the floors in our condo in the Spring. 'tis a small price to pay  ;)

wish this was in my budget, sadly it's not.  I was always somewhat fascinated with the x-wing.

Pre-sale is officially 9AM PST on Thursday December 11th.

350$ non-refundable deposit. You can either pay the rest in full when they are in stock and ready to ship or setup a layaway plan to pay the remainder over the course of 3 more months. With the layaway plan the X-wing will not ship until after all payments are made.

Hehe...yep Ben!  As long as I can get one that is.....

Given the price I don't think it'll sell out immediately but I do think it'll go reasonably quick.

I'll just see how it goes Thursday morning  :-\

Biggs needs an X-wing!!

It looks really nice, but I certainly cannot get this, since the kids would brake it in few weeks. I would need big acrylic cover, high place to place it. It would be just too hard, it's nice though  ;)

The Incom T-65 X-wing has become the mainstay starfighter and symbol of Rebel defiance for much of the Galactic Civil War.

At 12.5 meters long, the X-wing starfighter has sophisticated flight and combat systems, and hyperspace capability built into its narrow spaceframe. Aft of the cockpit, four “S” foils serve as wing surfaces in air travel, distribute deflector shield energy, and act as weapons mounts. In space they open into an X configuration allowing the wingtip Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons a greater targeting spread. These formidable weapons can fire laser bolts independently or simultaneously for maximum effectiveness, while two Krup MG7 proton torpedo launchers, mounted forward in the main fuselage, provide long range targeting firepower.

Four realspace Incom 4L4 fusial thrust engines provide the X-wing with its speed and agility. Add a reputation for being able to withstand damage and its apparent why this fighter is a favorite among Rebel pilots. Although strictly a single-pilot ship, a socket located behind the cockpit houses an astromech droid which serves triple duty as navigator, technician, and co-pilot.

It was during the climactic Battle of Yavin, after the Y-wings of Gold Squadron had failed in their mission, that Luke Skywalker, flying in Red Five, heroically led the X-wings of Red Squadron in the destruction of the Empire’s ultimate symbol of oppression - the Death Star.
