Title: Darth vader esb review(short)
Post by: sabermaster on September 15, 2005, 04:21:09 PM
I first learned about fx-sabers when a friend told me about them. I then began to look at pictures and read articles all day about fx-lightsabers. I waited about two months until I was finally able to get my hands on one. Once it finally arrived my heart felt like it was gunna explode as I held the box in my hands. I peeked into the box and saw a shiny metal hilt just like darth vaders from the esb. I slowly and carefully opened the large box which held the precious lightsaber. After it was in my grasp I flipped the switch on and was startled by a large red glow and a magical hum. I was not able to put it down the rest of the night. The looks of the lightsaber are great, it can look pinkish in the light sometimes but, in the dark is a very bright and beatiful red glow. I love the sounds and the idle hum sounds just like it does in the movie. It also has a very comfortable grip and a awesome looking hilt. The only complaints i have about it is that you have to give it a pretty hard whack to get the clashing sound. The only other problem is that the swinging sound is pretty off sometimes. But other then that, it is a perfect lightsaber. With the vader esb youll have fun for hours.

I have the same hard-to-get-clash problem. One day I accidently whacked the blade into a wall and then the clash sensor is more sensitive. But still way back compared to the Anakin.

While I was doing some twirls I accidently knocked it on the staircase railing. Now it is slightly less sensitive....I think it is batch dependant.

I like the feel of this one. It is comfortable to grip. The sounds are awesome, love the rumbling.

I give MR all the props in the world for these sabers.  They have that clash sound set up to go off when you hit another saber even if you do it really gently.

You can't set it off by hitting your hand or arm, not by hitting the bed, or your 10 year old kid, or the dog.

You can set it off easily with anything very hard.  The back of a dinning room chair, a plastic house fan, edge of the coffee table, another saber.

Try this.....take an unopened Pepsi/Soda can, lay it on it's side on top of the counter/table and ever so gently tap your saber on the can.  I did this by accident one day and found it amazing how gently I had to tap the can to get the clash sound to go off.

Tried that with my anakin nd it worked!

Not really...

I hit my Anakin ROTS and Vader ESB blades together. The anakin clashes at the SLIGHTEST (yes, the slightest) knock. But the Vader ESB takes a little bit more force to get the clash effect...

Darth Vader ESB was my first lightsaber when I first brought a FX lightsaber. However due to some problem I had lately, I exchanged it to Anakin Skywalker ROTS. Before when I still had the Darth Vader ESB with me, I find it is really not that bright at all and it giving me a hard time with registering a clash sound. The sounds and the hilt are okay. But then when I got my Anakin Skywalker ROTS, it is way more better than my previous lightsaber. The blade is way more brighter than the Darth Vader lightsaber, and the hilt looks very unique and comfortable to hold with it. It is way more easy to register the clash sound than Darth Vader lightsaber and not to mention it has more than just only one clash sound unlike my previous one with only one. The sound is perfect for me because it is soft and smooth not like loud and rough sound from Darth Vader lightsaber. Overall, I think Darth Vader isn't really as good as you think there once you got the Anakin Skywalker ROTS in comparison to it.
