For me (so far), its Harp's Starkiller/Kylo Ren Mashup.

I once spent enough money at Ace Hardware one year buying bits and bobs for building lightsabers that I got a Christmas card from the President and CEO of the company thanking me for being one of their top 10 customers that year.  Does that count?  I got a $2500 gift card from them as a "thank you" as well.

Oh man.....so you are the one who got this lightsaber. I was just looking at Harp's FB page yesterday and saw this. This is easily the most gorgeous looking saber i've ever seen

Most spent in one payment?  Lol.

I tend to spend quite a bit to assemble my costumes ( including the lightsabers - whether it's a completed saber hilt or hilt parts) to complete them which means sourcing items from different places plus the shipping costs to get them to me.  Though I think the most I've ever spent in one sitting is for a beautifully converted Denix Mauser into a Luke ESB Blaster replica done by Scottjua.

I was originally going to convert it myself, but seeing as he has all the proper equipment to do it, along with the time and experience, I figured it was worth the money to commission it to be done properly.

I want to say I spent about $700-$800 to acquire all the parts and the commission and shipping fees.

Worth every penny!  He did an incredible job.

My Graflex 2.0 build I'm working on right now, the Canadian dollar isn't at its best and shipping just hikes the price up even more...

Tell me about it! Every time i go to place an order i contemplate waiting to see if the dollar gets better. Although i do ship to a mailbox just across the border so i save a lot on shipping charges!

Ive placed 11 orders from TCSS in the last 6 months, all were fairly substantial, mind you the parts are not all for my personal stuff.

Apparently that auction was a sham because the person who bid the highest backed out. The builder has posted for sale in online.  Link can be found Facebook or other forums.
