"No longer nameless" Second prototype
« on: November 04, 2015, 11:21:27 PM »
Hey,

So here it is the (no longer nameless) saber I am building. now called "Horizon"

This is the middle of production, I saw people do logs and so I thought I might start one.
This is the offspring of my first prototype I made to understand the basics.
It is also the first one I post on the forum, so interested to see the feedback.
Think I might redo the etching since it got between the resistant a bit.
The metal is some aluminium but the main body is steel.
This is still very early in production so yes I know it looks a bit bland.
I am still new to saber building and any ideas would be great!
So here it is

2nd UPDATE

Now a week later I have finished sanding and etching and most hard metal working beside drilling and making some small windows. I now have the leather I want to use for the handle.
I have also redone the shroud, it is looking much better.
The weather has gone perfectly with ware and eroding is slightly visible below the sanding and polish on the shroud and pommel.
now that the basics is done, time for the hardest part, detailing and simply making it look nice.
The blade for it I already have but I need to spend some time on the diffusion.
ALSO! I tested out the leds I wanted to use today.... I could not see for 5 seconds..... they work.
Here are the pics peeps!!!!

The hilt and pipes acting as a handle at the moment will be further filed and sanded.

Okay,
third and (second final) update.
This is what the final hilt design came out to be.

This is just my personal light saber.
Next one going to be more regular, going for a manipulated Obione saber, more likable to the many.
Anyone know the diameter I should leave the inside if I am going to sell it? I don't want to put electronics in it.
Final update going to have the blade and some nicer screws.
Thanks and any comments are welcome!!!!

I can say that your etching and curves look interesting, but there isn't enough for me to fully comment without seeing it more... together.

ya I need to sand it a bit down more for the tubes to fit smoothly.
Right now I need a wooden hammer.  :cheesy:

Nice...

I think you should call this saber "Resistance" friend! (:

I today just got confirmation that I am upgrading to a new laboratory next to my old one.
this one has every metal working machine imaginable, mill, lathe, acid etching you name it.
So going to be off the radar for a bit, experimenting and making the final go around on the saber.
making it actually look nice.
Make final update when it is done and asking questions for the next build :azn: :azn: :azn: :azn: :cheesy:
Cyas, :afro:

Also going to have a much better picture taking place lol

Okay so this is the third update showing the final hilt.
Blade going to be finished soon,
Anyone know if it is possible to sell without joining the MC?
It seems you need to have bought at least 10 things from here to sell.
I don't have money or need to do so lol
