Let's see what you're working on
« on: September 18, 2019, 05:56:43 PM »
Would love to get a glimpse of some projects. C'mon share some pics of your current project. Even if its not done.

I'll start...

Probably the single most frustrating install I have done.  Thick wires, tight spaces, broken switches, faulty recharge port, you name it. Hopefully wrapping it up by week's end.

Nothing nearly as polished but I am finishing up a ESB build with a relic crystal reveal and OLED screen.

Nice! My personal preference is beat up and lived in. I did a similar "relic" build back 2016.

Ah man, once more, my terrible timing strikes back. My main WIP is about a long weekend of building off being ready for the forum gallery, so I don't want to spoil that surprise, and my second WIP is a pile of aluminium tubing so freshly cut I haven't de-burred it yet

No sweat. Looking forward to seeing what you have.

I'm doing actually TWO string blade builds at the moment. The above image is a 2005 MR lightsaber that I'm building out to be CF LS for my friend Ron.

The other CF LS build is a very high-end Graflex lightsaber I can't wait to reveal soon. Here is some blades going together for these two builds:

These are white 5mm LEDs that light up ultra cool white and they will shine through a Blue Day blade from TCSS so the effect will be my 'Real Blue' which is in my opinion, the definitive blue from the movies. I'll let you know how this turns out in my Mining Colony section soon.

Does this count?  :cheesy:

Stepped away from sabers for a bit last year and have been busy with this instead.

YES!! In fact, you win :)

I had a 66 mustang when I was 22. I spent more time beating it up than I should have fixing it up.

Yeah,  no kidding...I think cost is part of what is keeping the younger generation from getting into the classic/antique/hot rod hobby.

Well, seeing as how I managed to lose most of last weekend to a migraine, and I've got a week and a bit to start and finish a project I promised for a friend's birthday present, I can't see myself getting my current WIP done before october. So, here's a quick tease.

Also, if Qui-Gon's going to get away with a fancy car, I'll also throw this in, too

I mean, sure, I finished it last april, but it's been back on my bench for a quick once over last week. So it totally counts.

Recently, I've gotten into Fountain Pen Restoration. Very messy, but very rewarding to bring life back into a piece of history.

Pass on what you have learned. Strength. Mastery. But weakness, folly, failure also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is. We are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters. ~Master Yoda~

Aww the pics aren't showing.

I've thought about using my lathe to turn pens.
