See?  I promised you I'd give it a good home... :)

(Thanks again to Red Five for the sale of the Maul battery pack... it helped me get this thing working!)

This is much much more than a good home!

-Thank you for helping finance my own (and first) custom saber build. :)

Hey, guys... I just wanted to let you know that I updated the initial post with a few more pics.

I decided to add an accent LED to the activation box, seeing as how it was static and non-lighting since I ripped out the original Parks electronics (and tore apart that PCB! ;) )  With some technical advice from Darth Tyranus (thanks again for the great info, DT!) I wired up a single LED and ran it right off the MR board.  I mounted it underneath the (originally scrolling) 10-LED bargraph.  I still wanted to have multiple colors or lights in that area, but powering all of those LEDs would be too much of a drain on the power, and probably dim the Lux too much.  So I simply used a blue LED and a small piece of yellow gel underneath the 10-LED block to get both green (showing through the rectangles) and a blue glow from underneath.

Unfortunately, the pics aren't the best representation. :( They don't pick up the green too well, and in person, the blue is not nearly as overpowering as it looks (it's a bit overexposed).

Thanks again to everybody for looking-- and for the compliments!

Excellent! That turned out really nice.

I might do a little experiment with the LED sequencer on the MR board.

It's a little known fact that you CAN use the 1-6 solder pads from the blade connector to wire LEDS for a bargraph.

If you do it right, they will ignite in sequence and scroll like the original blade for an MR does. this makes for interesting power up and power down sequences depending on how you order your LED's in a row.

You can get left to right, right to left, center-out, outside to center, with six LED's  depending on how you wire it.

Cristar has a good point though about watching the current draw, as it could dim the Lux, and negatively affect your run times, depending on how much juice you are giving the board.

You don't have to use just the blade sequencer either.

You can also wire the accent LED into the clash circuit so that it only goes off with a clash triggering. OR you can wire it to the speaker leads so it fluxes with the sound of the saber.

As per usual, excellent advice and ideas, DT!   ;D

I didn't want to go crazy with the LEDs this time 'round, but maybe I'll give a scrolling setup a shot in a future saber.  I'd be curious to see exactly how it would affect the Lux brightness when they're all lit.  Definitely keep us posted if you do in fact experiment with it.  Thanks as always!

...and thanks for the compliments, Darth D!
