We too were watching this saber. Im glad you got it cause man, you did a SWEET job with it! ;D That is VERY nice. I really like the chassis you did for it as well. I have a question: do the milled groves in the hilt go all the way through? In the video it almost looks like they do.

If you mean the milled black groves on the lower part of the hilt: no. I think you are probably picking up on where the paint had worn off. I've since repainted the groves so that they don't show metal. But I think you might be on to a nice idea - being able to have peek holes into the electronics of a hilt. Even with a few accent LEDs deeper in the hilt to give a little varied glowing. I don't have a mill though and don't think I could stomach trying this with my dremel.

Yup. Gold (Brass) and black grips (or slots in this case) can lead to a Mace-ish look. Still, that hadn't occurred to me until the few of you mentioned it.

Actually I think it looks better than the Mace.  ;)   I always like the Mace with the gold highlights, but I never would've bought one.  This one screams buy me now!!!

Very, very nice work! I'm intrigued by the main switch. I haven't seen anything like that before - (maybe I haven't been looking hard enough!) - and was wondering just how "custom" that is. Where could I find something like that?

Hey you sabersmiths out there -- any reason this button would not work with US2.0/2.1 in an MHS hilt?

The switch you are looking at should work with the updated 2.1 - I can't speak to the bounce on it and if it will work with a 2.0.

Check out the dimensions on that switch that you are looking at - 19mm diameter is really big

Also, it doesn't have an LED that will light up

The one I'm using is 16mm and stainless steel and has an LED inside. It's lower profile than any that are available in America, as most of them are too tall to fit in a hilt. I had to special order it from china in bulk through supplier that I arranged a deal with, so unfortunately it's not something that you can easily get... I'm not saying that it's impossible though  ;)

You may be able to buy the switch from JQ lightsabers..their switches look very similar to that

Do you know how deep these are? Have you been able to mount them in a hilt without some sort of panel?
