Parks Sapphire w/String Blade

Yeah, yeah, I know, I know...why on earth do a string blade for a saber that normally has a phase blade?  Well...It came to me as an empty for a start, lol.  This particular saber is literally built on a 3/4" ID tube.  No conversion unless I completely rebuilt it and I was not willing to do that.  So I was asked if I could light it up somehow.  Didn't wanna order any more 10mm LEDs so I brainstormed and thought, "why not make a saber within a blade?" So I did.  I used a MR Yoda string and foam diffuser, a 3/4" OD Poly-C blade, NiMH stick pack and recharge port.  I sanded it for nice diffusion.  I also made the pommel of the saber into a nice kill key.  Pull the key and the blade lights up.  Loosen the set screw and the blade (along with all of the electronics) slides right out.  Elegant.  Simple.  Very bright.  Have a nice day.

Yeah, it actually is REALLY bright.  I over drove it a bit, lol.

Just saw this, Really cool conversion !  Love that its all in the blade :)  You could literally make a stunt out of any 3/4in hilt with this.  I also liked what you said  bout helping out military members :)  Really means alot and Im sure your customer was very satisfied !  Always a fan of your work !
