Thank you for bringing these custom sabers to my attention. I had no idea so many were available on eBay. A search on eBay UK didn't come up with these results. I have a collection of mostly master replica and hasbro, but these look far more interesting!.

Shipping price isnt unreasonable, considering the large box, packing materials, taking into account possible residential address adder, ebay taking their 10% cut on "total" price of sale (including shipping fees), and insurance on the package.  It adds up quick for the casual seller that doesnt have a warehouse full of supplies for shipping stuff.  He should have just rolled that $29 into the auction starting price, and offered free domestic shipping thou, since ebay is taking their cut either way, and everyone likes to think they are getting something for free on the purchase.

Shipping price is also a sneaky way to tack on extra money to your sale. you don't have to ship through ebay, so if someone really wants something and pays you $30 to ship its even if it really only costs $10, you've just made an extra $20.

The one thing yall missed is TIME... shipping something properly takes alot of time, usually a custom box, and a special trip during work hours to the post office or UPS.  Shipping price is what it is, add it to the price of the item, if its still a good deal then its time to buy =)

I don't really think time should be a part of it at all. Shipping something properly should be a condition of selling a good online. If you aren't willing to put the time in to pack something properly and go somewhere to ship it, then don't sell goods online. I'm not willing to pay someone extra for "time" to uphold their responsibility as a seller. 

I can see how people would feel that the time they spend doing that deserves compensation, but I think thats kind of stupid and a bit self-righteous lol.

A good point, nonetheless.
