Brassflex™. A CF lightsaber
« on: August 02, 2009, 07:23:58 PM »
This started months ago, when Tim started carrying the brass Graflex bodies. I've been slowly acquiring parts and planning this build. It was finished late last night.
The Brass body was provided by TCSS
The clamp, bunny ears and pins are all vintage.
The rest of the exterior pars were provided by TFX studios
The chassis is a 1st generation CF chassis built by Yoda. I had to completely take it apart and rebuild it to get the features and fit I wanted. The pommel in the body provided by TCSS is thicker than a standard Graflex.

Specs
CF is a 4.2
Cyan Lux V bin 2
2 14500 trustfires
Real quartz crystall
3 accent Led  Blue, Green and Teal
TCSS speaker
1.3mm recharge port

Soundfonts
Novastar
Blackstar
Ancient
Madcow's Luke Hero
Zen
Necrovolt

Update

Blingstrip added and saber polished. Hopefully the brass will tarnish evenly to match

Brassflex update - YouTube

Tarnished with blingstrip  09/27/09

MJ of Gemini Concepts powder coated the clamp lever to give it a more brassy finish. I am very pleased with the results.

Definatly one of the best (if not THE best) graflex I have ever seen.

Certainly worthy of the awesomness that is a Crystal Focus 4.2!

Nice steam-punk brassy looking graphlex, Jango. Very well detailed I must say and the CF puts it over the top. Well done my friend :)

Lookin' off the hook there, Jango!

In a way, kinda reminds me of Judge's Brass Bas***d saber. Is it that heavy?

There is an easy way to find out.  ;)

The grips give it a little back end weight, but not really.

Wow, Jango...that is awesome! I love the bronze and love how it looks a little weathered towards the emitter!
Amazing work! 8)
