Has anyone on here ever tried to take one of those high quality real burning lasers and mounted it inside an fx? I would really like to see how that would look.

Well first off the high powered burning lasers would be very dangerous and I don't think Ultra covers his blades if they get melted by a REAL lightsaber.  :D :D :D

Second I think a real laser is prob too focused and would not project much or any light inside the polycarb blade.

How about a cucumber for a blade.   ;) :D

someone has done something similar http://www.lasersaber.com/
it's a laser pointer in a metal hilt, and there is a magnet blocking light in the blade so when the magnet slides up and down the tube, it gives an extension retraction effect.

personally i prefer Luxeons

There is a magnate in the tip and hilt of that blade, and a ball bearing that rolls up and down. That is why in the video the person only ignites the saber pointing the blade down, and turns it off pointing the blade up (he even shakes it a little).

I think in the duel you could see the blades flash off during some of the contacts, almost as if the ball bearing fell back down.   I think it still is a very cool idea from a science perspective, but I probably wouldn't use it for my saber purposes.

Are those MHS parts? They look pretty bright, at least as bright as a stock MR.(we all know the camera makes things look brighter then they really are. Thin neck obi/luke? Smaller batteries, smaller hilt....... Interesting. I wonder how these would look with diffusion in the polycarb tube.

This could be cool idea for a display saber. I think that the red blade was flashing probably from the switch I don't think it was the ball bearing rolling up and down. It flashed to quickly..

They are MHS hilts. They guy who makes them just designs the hilt with MHS stuff and then makes a laser pointer easy to mount inside the hilt.

Aluke is right. Probably anyone could go and do this to a hollow hilt and save some cash. But I don't think buying the thing or even making one is worth it. There just not worth it. Though it seemed in the video that it was more screen accurate because of the white core and off color.

No blade can get a white core, except for a dual tube. I can almost guarantee you that these guys aren't using a dual tube, because they are a PITA to do.

I personally think those sabers look like crap.
