Is the pin that wrecks the sensor the one that is visble on the opposite side of where the "hood" is?  Is it like on the Maul where there is a pin that pushes all the way thru?

Yes it is ;)  If you manage to push it in far enough to clear the hilt it will crush the sensor.
If you drill through the back you must go through the sensor to get behind the pin.

Alternative: try to drill it out from the front, with out going to deep.
Probelm the pin is hard and will catch on the bit and spin and possible burn/ruin the finish and look
of the surrounding surface.

and Your right Chewie...
I made sure to measure 2-3-4 times before cutting since there wasn't a lot of room for error  :D
Also the hole alignments were a bit odd on it as well ::)

yoda, you might want to ask tim at TCSS how he took his apart. he said over there that when he gutted it, none of the electronics (sensor included) were broken  ;)

That is good to know :) I bet it's being drilled out carefully and aligned in a press so it won't slip ;)
I'm sure Tim will post a tutorial so He will "reveal" it then  8)

Maybe if I cut of the blade and cut thru the platic holder I could move the sensor. Il have to be patient untill it gets here then I will see.

Yoda, you truly are the Jedi Master of our ages.

The stuff you create is absolutely phenomenal. MR should hire you as the top technician, you can find a way to do anything!

Looks like not a lot of progress so far on creating a DIY kit for the Yoda. Yoda, maybe you could do a walk-through, with part lists? Obviously you'd have to do another conversion to get in-progress pics, so I wouldn't expect that. Maybe some quick sketches? So far, you are the most successful at this conversion (which most say is impossible!), which is no real shock to me. I'm waiting for the day you post that you've somehow fit a lux V and soundboard into one of the .45 scale sabers! I'd love to convert a yoda, and would love to do it myself, with a little guidance. Did you ever find a way to overcome the clash sensor issue?

You just drill out the pin. In the pic below you can see the clash sensor attached to the led strip.
