3d printed trans white telescopic blade

Has anyone attempted something like this with a 3d printer? Lots of telescoping pieces so it shrinks down to a few inches concealed fully in the hilt? Wouldn't be very duel-worthy but would be extremely portable and probably look pretty good whipping out of a hilt as you turn on the LED... If it was thin and white it might be a decent diffuser by itself

I think you would see the seems of the segments just like on those cheap toys. I don't think there is any way to avoid noticing the light being brighter at those telescoping seem areas.

Yeah, that's probably true, but with enough segments it might even out a little. I don't expect it would be perfect but I'd be intrigued to see someone try it :)

The more segments actually the more you would see the seams and also the more you have the thinner they would need to be.
