Title: Gemini Concepts Presents... Vulpecula, a Petit Crouton 1.4 Saber
Post by: Master Jedye on November 15, 2010, 03:38:34 PM
Hello FX-Sabers!
We had a couple of MHS ribbed sections lying around, a good Qui-Gon style Bladeholder
and an MHS sleeve... so here's what we came up with.  It's obviously inspired from Qui-Jon Jinn's saber
in The Phantom Menace.  Hope you like it.  It'll be in the Trade Federation later tonight.

Vulpecula

MHS Blade Holder Style 18, highly polished and trimmed in Translucent Gold Powdercoat
2 MHS Ribbed Extensions, highly polished and trimmed in Translucent Gold Powdercoat
1.2 double female adapter
MPS pommel style 4 with insert
Activation box style 2
Handcut MHS Sleeve Material, polished and Powdercoated in Mirror Black
Bin 2 Cyan, LUX III on QD
Petit Crouton 1.4 Soundboard
Illuminated Blue Dot Anti-Vandel Momentary Switch
Black Momentary Auxiliary switch (Style 20)
2.1mm recharge port
7.4v Li-Ion battery pack created by QUI-GON.
TCSS premium speaker
Custom Blade Plug

Thanks Caine
It's the First PC I had a chance to wire up, ...nice little board. And putting this in a Qui-Gon inspired hilt was great, since his is one my favorite hilts.

Great job. I really like the powder coating work. It looks real slick. I wish the TCSS store offered a nice selection of powder coating colors like this. :\  This is going up for sale later you say? Hmmmm.

Thanks everyone.  The original color scheme was going to be red and blue... but I REALLY like the black and gold.... almost as much as I like Brass and Copper.

BTW... it's for sale:  http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=27223.new#new   ;) :) ;)

Thank you all for the kind comments!

Fett's Vett lives just two hours away from us and we were gonna met up Saturday... but plans changed, so this is getting mailed out tomorrow.

FV, Thank you again and we hope you enjoy it!  We had one more metal box... and we thought it would make a great display case for you.  Enjoy! (an allen wrench for the retention screw is under the bottom pillow, kill key and bladeplug are on the saber)

They did good work, however there are others who also do good high quality work. All you have to do is go visit the Mining Colony, there are several high quality Sabersmiths there.  ;)

So FJK, is gemini custom sabers just an old website that needs taken down?  Also is gemini, aka Madcow? or might totally getting things confused. I appreciate you feeling me in! :)

Gemini concepts isn't Madcow. GC is on a hiatus I think however I don't see them as active as awhile ago.

Madcow runs Genesis Custom Sabers, which is completely different from Gemini Concepts. They are 2 separate organizations run by 2 separate people.

Like I said earlier, the people who ran Gemini Concepts have retired from building sabers, at least for the foreseeable future.

Thanks FJK,
I just received one message saying there was confusion about whether I was still in business... and I was like "WHAT?"

GENESIS CUSTOM SABERS is very much in business!

And T-shirts are on sale (sorry - couldn't help it)

Just so ya'll hear it from the horse's mouth... yes, Gemini Concepts is on an indefinite hiatus.  We've made a few more sabers (mostly for friends or family) and perhaps we'll post them here later.

We had a blast and thank all the customers-who-became-friends and visa-versa for the years of success we enjoyed.

Why aren't we as prolific as before?  Families got bigger, other ventures picked up, "real-work" demanded more time.... the usual.

We're still around on the forums from time to time so feel free to shout out whenever you see us online.
