Getting closer to be finished.

(click pics for better view)

All the turning work is finished.  I still need to mill the bling strips and the carbon fiber strips.  Once those parts are finished, all the machining will be done.

I have a lot of hand cleaning to do on the shrouds and some matchup work to do on final assembly.  I am hoping these will be all finished around the end of the month.

What is the original post that this is based off of?  I'm curious to see the design and details about this.

Getting excited?

About a saber with an award-winning great design? Yes.

About a saber with highly esteemed Acerocket build quality? Yes.

About a saber made in an extremely limited edition with a good chance of being unique? Yes.

About a saber representing an "Alliance" of talented members of one of our favourite web forums? Yes.

Excited?

Oh yes...yes INDEED!  ;D

And a poor mendicant Jedi cannot help also noting that this saber with all its first-tier Premium features and exceptional quality is being offered at a remarkably bargain price compared to what a saber hilt like this could cost normally if commissioned. The 'bang for the buck' in this saber run is phenomenal...just look at those pics!!! Even unfinished you can already see these are something special. How is it possible that ANY are still 'left' ungrabbed?

To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...

As of this weekend, all the machining is finished.

The last parts were some of the most difficult.  Seems .015" thick 'rigid' carbon fiber sheet is not all that rigid.

I messed up and never ordered the plastic sheeting for the 'fading' window.  I ordered that this weekend and hope to get it this week.  I just have some minor cleanup work to do on the shrouds and when the plastic sheeting gets in, cut that and I can then start the final assembly of the sabers.  Everyone who is on the list can expect a PM sometime soon asking for shipment details and final payments.
