Excellent, its good to know that they are shipping quickly.

Good luck with your practicing...at least being outside you won't hit anything.   Unless there are some low flying birds or something.

Oh, I've been meaning to ask those that have the DVD...how do you like Tutorial 10?(UV spin)   More importantly...have you been able to do it with success?

I can still only do it with either the Maul, Luke or Obi.  The other sabers have too much stuff on the hilts.

Master Bandit, It was great meeting you at CIV.  The dvd is great and I'm glad you had them available there.

Regarding UV spin.  So far I haven't had much luck with actually keeping the saber really horizontal when I do the spin, which is the point right?  I mean I can do it more vertical without issue but doesn't look nearly as cool.  I use a obi-wan (best ballance and design imo from FX anyway) and maybe my arms just aren't long enough to do it.  I almost always hit my forward leg.  Perhaps I need to lean more into it.  I'll keep practicing on it.
“In my experience, there's no such thing as luck.”

Hey arcana,

It was a pleasure meeting you as well.  I'm happy to hear that your are enjoying your dvd.  The UV spin can be difficult to learn at first.  You have to find the proper body mechanics to make it work for yourself.   Quite a bit of a lean must be made in the forward motion to give the blade room to come around.
The saber I learned the spin with was the Darth Maul single with the coupler on the end instead of the endcap.  I used the ROTJ Luke in the DVD tutorial as it can easily be done with that one too.   But if you notice on one of the spins you can hear the tip of the blade hit my belt buckle, due to me not leaning far enough into it.  Once you get the motion down you should be able to do it with any of the FX's.  I was using a TESB Vader to practice it earlier this week.

Keep practicing as it sounds like you are on the verge of mastering it.

Hello all this topic was locked when I first received my DVD.  But now I've just had that much more time to practice :D.  If you don't already have this, why are you waiting?  Very informative.  The moves beforehand in the movies left me mesmerized and scratching my head.  In no way would I have attempted these "Jedi techniques" with out the instruction you receive in this DVD.  Now I am a saber spinning fiend.  The best part is now I can quickly and easily show somebody else how to do these.  Nothing beats the sense of accomplishment you get as your spin speed increases and you technique gets more refined.  Thanks Anakin.

I have been practicing for 5 days now and I must say I really like the DVD.
Before I started training with the SST DVD, I searched the interwebs for detailed instructions but found only short and often incomprehensible clips, many of them done by kids.
The tutorials on the DVD are in contrast both easy to follow and well explained, I'm finally making progress.

I have two small points of critique:
There is a little background noise, when I play the DVD on my surround system it becomes bothersome. No problem when I play it on my Computer, though.
In the menu, it would be nice to see the actual name of the technique instead of just "tutorial x". In search of a special technique, I keep cycling through the tutorials.

Personally, I can only recommend the Saber Spin Tutorial DVD, I didn't find anything as detailed and sophisticated on the interwebs, Master Anakin did a great job here.

PS: One more thing, Master, do you have an insurrance for damage at third parties? --> My flatscreen TV and several light bulbs are kaputt.

Glad you are enjoying it and thanks for the suggestions. I had actually played around with putting the technique name on the menu, but the menu became so cluttered looking that it lost the "simple and easy" look I was going for.  Not sure about the background noise.  The camera I used didn't have the best mic. haha

As with my Youtube vids...."Not responsible for Collateral Damage" heheh
