Yeah I noticed the pre-order info on the site earlier today and was gonna post about it when I had the chance.  Looks pretty awesome!

One of my favorite parts of the decription for this saber is:

"Featured in the 'Missing Scene' in the upcoming Blu-Ray Edition"

Looks like the Blu-Ray version of ROTJ will indeed have the scene edited in, which will be extremely cool.

I may buy one of the eFX to tear apart and add electronics, but this one was way to much $$$ to do that to.

 I wonder how many people could actually hack light & sound into that. Most of the internal space is used for collapsing.

 Me thinks it's not possible without the blade being wonky.

Yeah I heard that too, but the info below is making me think that they're actually gonna be putting the scene in the film:

"Fast forward 27+ years, August 14, 2010 . . . Star Wars: Celebration V in Orlando, Florida.  The mystery of the elusive "missing scene" was finally solved and to the thunderous applause of the crowd, it was shown and announced that it will be edited back in the long awaited Blu-Ray Discs of the Star Wars Saga!"

I could be wrong of course, and it could just be wishful thinking.  Although with all the tinkering GL has done with the OT, I see absolutely no reason at all why they wouldn't add THAT scene to the beginning of the movie.  I mean if you're gonna add stuff to the OT, it should be stuff like this (as opposed to a useless, cartoonish dance scene in Jabba's palace, for instance).

Having seen the EFX prototype at CV, I have to say it is difficult, if not impossible, to add light and sound.  However, always willing to give it a try :D.

 That is cool minus the strange white gloves, but the emitter looks like it is no longer collapsible.  A good trade off though.

 Too much effort and expense for a saber you can't play around with imo though.

As my personal opinion...

I think it is very difficult to add light and sound with the detail kept.
Even if it can be done, strength will not be secured.  :-X

If I make such a saber again, I will do a fundamental design over again to secure its enough strength.
