I'm not sure MR would send me a replacement, I have the Obi out of the box, so it is scuffed on like the surfaces you set it down on (the pommel namely). Maybe they would, but I think I can live with the tilted switchbox.

They will take it back, call and email them. As long as it is a factory error and it hasn't been over 45 days since you bought it, you won't have any problems :)

Yeah, but I have horrible patience. With the shipping of it all the way to MR and all the way back up to Michigan.

I know if I didnt send it back now it would bug me everytime I picked up the saber, knowing the control box is tilted. But I know what ya mean, you waited to get the saber you dont wanna send it away and be without it now!

Although the tilt isn't that bad. The tilt is toward the thumb on my hand that turns on the saber, so it's kinda convienient.

I'm in Chicago and when I got a replacement it took them about 3 days :)

I'm in Canada and I got mine 3 business days after I emailed them. Great people to deal with. Not all Obi's are bright one's though. My new Obi isn't even as bright as my Anakin but my other one is almost twice as bright. I'm thinking the really bright Obi's may not be the norm. The only question is why some would have brighter LEDs than others. Shouldn't they all be made to the same specs?

My Obi Wan is maybe 10-15% brighter than my Anakin.  I bought them about a month apart from each other, so they are both late models.

Most people do report the Obi is the brightest saber, but twice as bright would be a lot.  I'd guess that means either you have the best Obi on the planet, or an older Ani, or maybe the batteries in the Ani aren't as good.

My obi is twice as bright as my buddies Ani, he wants an obi too. We compared them with fresh duracell coppertops in both. Yeah, after x-mas, I stocked up on those lol.

All my comparisons are made with brand new powerpix. I realize that brightness depends on batteries. (Not that dumb yet). One of mine is actually about twice as bright. I'm talking bright enough to almost have a white looking core. The other is a little dimmer than my Luke ESB.

Wow this topic sprouted a bit

Sucks to hear about the tilt on the power box thingy  :(

Put my Anakin to shame... DEFINITELY!

I love the weight the sound and most of all i love the emitter it is so sweet!

it also doesn't carve up my hand like my Anakin

I also totally agree with  The Luke. I cant stand the ROTJ Luke
the only cool thing about it for me is the green blade. I haven't felt a hilt this solid since  i got my 2 lord of the rings replicas.

The only problem i'm having iwth it is that it has some power issues like it wont turn on sometimes :'(

but if i fiddle with the battery back it does get better... any one else experience these problems?

and ive ha dthis problem with my windu as well and my anakin
where the sound is like weak and like all crackly  i just fiddle with the power bok and it works again ... it's odd

oh well obi still gets a 10 / 10

Meh, I kinda like the tilt now. I realized after spinning it around that the tilt gives my lower hand a little more room to grab making behind the back spins easier. I think it's a positive now :)

Maybe it only happens after a lot of use, but the switch on my Obi is REALLY sensitive, meaing it slides up and down VERY easily, with the lightest touch.  When spinning, it's very easy to brush the switch and have the saber accidentally turn off.

Can anyone think of a way to give that slide switch more resistance?

Hmm, I actually like the switch placement because I rarely ever bump it and activate/deactivate it. I don't know how you did it... either way, I'm not sure how to reinforce the switch to make it less sensitive other than to raise up the metallic walls around the switch using like some kind of small rubber walls, just a thought.
