"Dear Saber Santa,
For Christmas, I would like a middle range board that has color mixing...."so there you are ! ^-^
Please Welcome the PETIT CROUTON v3.0 Time to upgrade that popular board, not that it has been specially difficult, or on the back-
toaster burner or anything, 2013 has just been fairly busy.
In a nutshell, it's slightly simplified CFv6.5.
FEATURES-
[new] Same motion detection as CFv6.5 (and NB, and CS2), with increased dynamic (better fine tuning of motion parameters) and less noise
-
[new] High-end 3D motion sensor
-
[new] THREE (3) color channels and color mixing (CEx compliant) powered by FlexiBlendâ„¢ using the color satellite board or stand alone using a single cell.
-
[new] THREE (3) sound fonts selectable via Font Xchangeâ„¢
-
[new] FOUR (4) accent LEDs (still 32 stages sequence with stop and loop instructions using either 0 or 65535 for the delay)
-
[new] On-board Power Extenders (PEx)
-
[new] Special Flash on Clashâ„¢ mixing engine that allows various LEDs and color schemes to be implemented. That includes the Legacy FoC the way we defined it in the CFv5.
-
[new] Improved file fetching, up to 16 GB µSD card, drag and drop compliant (tested on PC at least)
-
[new] Override file access thru R.I.C.E. and re-organization of common parameters for simplified configuration editing and authoring
-
[new] Default package with Light Meat, Dark Meat and... GreyMeat, by Sekrogue !
-
[new] CFv6.5 Dimensions 51.4x23.5x7.5 mm
-
[new] Just as easy to
HACK as the PC2.0 or the CFv6
- Force effect sound
- 4 blaster sounds
- "RandomX" selection methods for swings, clash, blasters (ie, in most cases, never twice the same sound triggered in one sequence)
- Drop-in Compatibility with CF sound fonts (no remix / volume adjustment necessary)
- Font limited to 8 swings, 8 clashes and 4 blasters. Also Force and lockup. Backward compatible with recent fonts, extra sounds are just ignored
-
[new] Up to 4 boot sounds
-
[new] *actual* 16 bit DAC for *actual* 16 bit sound output
-
[new] Regulated Audio engine, CFV6 loudness and audio quality
- 2A current
- Larger & Labeled R.I.C.E. pads (still under the board)
- And still smooth ignition / retraction effect and flicker. No Pulse effect though.
Other features- Hum resume (resume) : defines if you come back to where the hum has been interrupted or not. Interesting for certain hums. Not sample accurate but resumes the hum in a ballpark of 10ms from where it's been interrupted by a fx sound
- Anti power off delay (offd) : adds a delay to the power off when cycling the activation switch and is adjustable. A useful alternative to A-POP, a couple of customers requested it, here it is.
- Led parameter expressed mA as we deal with real current measurements and current regulators. To get 2A you would enter 2000, for 1.5A 1500 etc.
- Wiring is very similar to current CF, down to the accent LEDs location and FoC pads.
- Updated version of the R.I.C.E. app
Here is a list of the files used by the PC 3.0boot.wav + boot2-4.wav
clash1-8.wav
swing1-8.wav
hum.wav
blaster1-4.wav
poweron.wav
poweroff.wav
force.wav
lockup.wav
You can drop a CF font directly onto the µSD card in its /bankX folder as the PC only uses what it needs and will just ignore the unused files of a CF font. No need to delete them.
The Petit Crouton 3.0 will be for sale at
The Custom Saber Shop in a very short while. On my side, for EU customers (and sometimes further),
you will have to wait until the 1st of January as I'm doing my Year Closing, which includes a lot of accountancy :-\ so I'll slightly postpone the sale of those, though the batch is ready to go.
