I must have been a toddler when I first saw Star Wars, and have early memories of flashing green and red swords that I now know to be Luke and Vader's final duel. I also remember being terrified when Luke takes of dying, disfigured Anakin's helmet. I guess that's why I like the final film the most, I was thrown into star wars at the deep end, and it seemed so dark and magical back then.
From then whenever I visited Dad's (my parents divorced when I was 4) we would put on Star wars, and my love for the films really bloomed when the OT was re-released on the big screen, which again my dad took me to see each opening night.
I have both respect and envy for those old enough to have seen ANH back in 77' but occasionally, and never on these forums, you get people resenting people of my age group ( I'm 18 now ) and even people younger who first encontered star wars through the prequals.
I think one of the great thing about star wars is the generation bridge, so many people in situations just like that seeing star wars as a young child with their parents.
And without Star Wars none of us would know one another! How much would that suck!
