Force relics Curved Bone and new Bone sleeve style
« on: September 30, 2012, 12:40:21 PM »
Hi everyone,

After receiving some positive reactions on the bone sleeve experiments we have posted here earlier, I decided to take it a step further and start experimenting with other shapes.

These 2 parts are what we came up with.

First off: Force Relics Curved Bone
I always wanted to build my own curved hilt. An original design of some sort, but I know how hard it is to machine curved parts. So I decided to search for a way around this problem.
I made a curved plastic bone part and glued in 2 parts of MHS extendors to make shure I can connect the MHS parts I want for this saber in the future.
Some pics:

Second thing I came up with is more or less inspired on Madcow's bone he used on his Darth Bane hilt.

So what do you guys think?

EDIT:

Here's a price range for both parts, please let us know via PM if you are interested.

Curved bone: 100 USD + shipping (MHS threaded parts included)
New bone sleeve: 65 USD + shipping

Wow, they are beautiful. I love the curved one !!! ;)

Haha... Well, it's a fool's errand, boy. The Emperor's army is infinite. You'll eventually be killed... or worse... and nothing will have changed.

Time will bring the real end of our trial.  One day they'll be no remnants

Both are fantastic, but the second resonates with me, lol, "to the bone" ;)

The 2nd one would be my favorite of the 2 as well.

I like them both but the curved connector is excellently creative use of that material. BRAVO!
To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...

Looking really nice - and nicely real - especially the curved piece. MJ, what material are these made from?

Very slick!  Is the bone textured?

It has slight texturing but is polished to a smooth finish
