A Cheap and Effective way to Display your Minis
« on: March 23, 2006, 02:52:12 PM »
All you have to do is take a regular kitchen cabinet spice organizer, shown here:

Load it up with minis, and voila! You have a cheap and very effective way of showing off your scaled replicas.  :D

Doing this will cost you about $5 (not including the minis ;) ). You can find spice organizers at most grocery stores or even Wal-Mart and Target. It's cheaper than buying several MR mini display stands. With one of these, you can show off nine minis or more, as opposed to MR's, which only hold three minis. I'm planning to remove the soft plastic portions of the stand and paint the entire thing black sometime. :)

For those who don't want to spend $5, I'll save you some money. At Dollar Tree, you can find some of these mini shelves for... you guessed it... $1! You just have to be willing to make two holes in your wall to hold them up.  ;)

They hold approximately two mini sabers... you can put three, but it looks a bit crowded.

Whatever you do, you'll be sure to save some cash, and at the same time, proudly display your minis. :)

that is a really good idea.  The only advantage I see with the MR cases is the acrylic cover.  I would hate to have to wipe of all those minis if they get dusty lol

The way I keep my mini from getting all dusty is I put it in the case for my LE.

I was looking around for one of those spice racks for the same purpose just the other day.  But I was looking for something small enough to fit in a 1:18 car case.

As far as the minis getting dusty, I recommend one of the Pledge Duster Plus wands, they get into all the small details without leaving any kind of residue on the minis.

That spice organizer is cool.  How did you come up with that?  Looks a lot better than the cardboard steps covered with cloth I made.
I'm not wearing hockey pads.

Those dusters work very well. I got to try one when I was at my mom's house last week. Plus they're easy to use.
