I have just recently discovered a slight change in what was initially planned and what is going on now. When I designed the saber I designed it to specifically utilize the tri-rebel leds, and had ordered a few various ones and had them onhand for designing purposes. They ALL had a center hole drilled in them.
I wound up using those initial tri-rebels and no big deal, ordered more like always, and while sitting down starting these installs, I noticed that the batch I recently ordered does NOT come with a hole drilled out in the center.
This was a key in wire routing for the emitter and there is ZERO, absolutely NO room for wires to pass around or down the sides anywhere. As such, you have 1 of 2 options:
1--Center your led and drill out a center hole for your wiring, being careful not to damage your diodes
2--Utilize a dremel and cut some holes into the provided heatsink base to pass the wires through.
Sorry for this slight annoyance. Not sure if the tri-rebels are permanently being offered now on a solid star base, or if pre-drilled center hole ones are still available. They could be directly from manufacturer, but I went through TCSS as I like to keep as much saber stuff in house as possible and they all came on a solid non-holed star.
Just a heads up! 8)
