Has anyone tried using Lithium thionyl chloride AA Size 3.6V 2400 mAh Batteries?

My only concern is that dispite the high mAh rating they seem to be listed as for "low power items over a long period of time".

The still confused by all this electrical stuff...

Yup... non-rechargable is fine... just interested in knowing if these would be a viable power option and if anyone has tried using them.

What you whant is high mah ratings on battery packs. that determs run times.

This is what I've thought, but people keep warning me about some of these batteries that they have "misleading" mAh values.  I've not found this to be true yet with my 9v Lithium, but I've not begun using it to drive a lux... only the driver, sound, and aux leds... but it seems very happy.

I've just been curious if anyone has tried to investigated these Lithium's and if they are true to the mAh values for reference.

I wish these things were clearly posted around the net for people doing electrics projects.  I guess people just assume you are going to use a "stock" battery and not look for something different.

Even high power Lithium thionyl chloride "M"series batteries that "say" they put out 1 amp  ::)
they don't work well enough, so don't waist your money on them.

however they are supposedly good to power a computer clock or memory back up for 10 years or more :D
