Phoenix Darksider Mace Windu FX Reveiw...
« on: January 10, 2007, 01:49:57 AM »
I recently bought the 4th addition to my collection of force fx lightsabers by adding my Mace Windu, I am not sure if it is AOTC or ROTS. If someone can tell me the differences i'd appreciate it. Whichever it is though my reveiw for it is quite simple. I am quite impressed with the hilt, the electrum look is great and the grip is outstanding. I have heard rumors of muffled sounds in the Mace but mine does not have that problem, the sound is rich and sharp. On the flip side of the coin I am not impressed with the blade color. The fact it is not a true purple blade puts a damper on things. The blue and red led lights make a close to royal purple, but not quite, not to mention they leave a pink stripe all the way down the blade. There is also spotting in the blade, moreso than others I have. Over all I give this saber a 7 1/2 of 10.

I don't have the Mace myself but I think the way to tell is by the description on the box, as in it'll say "bla bla in ROTS"

Also if you look at the copyright stamp on the bottom of the hilt the ROTS should have "2005" on whereas the AOTC "2004"

Congrats on your new saber!

I'll look into those, thank you. But other than that is there any physical differences?

The ROTS has better sound.

Same hilt though i think.  Same crappy blade

not even that is very noticable though. they both have the same sound card, the speaker might just be a bit different
