NBV4 static sound issue?
« on: February 04, 2018, 11:50:37 PM »
Hello all!

I just finished soldering and wiring my first saber, but there seems to be an issue with the sound. I originally wired it up with a 2w bass speaker from TCSS, but the sound was static-ey. I thought that I had broken the speaker due to some finagling I had to do in order to get it to fit in the speaker mount. I purchased a 2w premium speaker and wired that up, but I am still having the same issue. When the kill key is pulled, I hear the boot sound, but there is a high pitched whine that plays. The saber turns on and everything else seems to be working however.

Here is a video demonstrating the sound: Nano Biscotte V4 sound issue - YouTube [nofollow]

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Thanks so much!
Currently working on my first saber build!

probably a fried amplifier (high voltage sent to the board via the recharge port, or reverse polarity)
