NBv4 Help
« on: May 10, 2017, 08:00:52 AM »
Initial fire on of the nbv4 did not go well.  Cant get it to do swings, FoC, or change sound banks.  wiring looks fine and all the LED verified working through config file settings.   I went back and looked through the manual to check default settings in the override and config files.  Some defaults are different than what the manual recommends so I changed those but still cant get it to work properly.  Changes made to override:

vol=2
beep=40
rebootd=0 (was at 1250)
motg=0 (was at 500)
muteoff=0
gate=15 (was at 70)
hclash=550 (was at 700)
hswing=120 (was at 220)
offd=200
swing=200
clash=150
deep=15000
ledstrip=0
ls0=14
ls1=28

are you using a straight battery or a recharge port?

Please post some good clear pics so we can take a look at it.

Using a 18650 battery w/recharge port.  I'll post pictures when I get home from work tonight.  I get FoC not working due to a wiring problem but wouldn't swings still work?  poweron, poweroff, and hum work perfectly.

Yeah it should but its always possible the motion sensor got fried or something.  Its hard to say because each individual board is tested before being bagged but sometimes things happen.  It is possible there was a cold solder joint that didn't show up during testing but did once the iron was put to it which would obviously be covered under warranty.  Either way we will get you fixed up with a repair.

Thanks,
Michael

Board placement in the hilt makes a difference too. If the motion sensor is too close to the center of rotation, it won't see enough inertial motion to trigger the sensor. I ran into that with my first build, lol.

not with the NB v4 though. Dual sensor + MotionFusion = no real hilt location dependency.

Small update.  I de-soldered the NBv4 and put the second NBv4 I ordered in its place.  Second one works perfectly.

Hi,

I am sorry for bumping this topic, but I am essentially having the same issue.

None of the swing sounds or clash sensors seem to be working.

  I am pretty careful with my soldering. I am using a straight battery as well. Fully charged. I can do everything else.

Thanks.
