Need help - RICE on MAC OS won't work
« on: March 05, 2017, 03:05:32 PM »
Installed CF 8 RICE for my mac, which I can open.  I've also downloaded the driver I've seen linked on older threads, but RICE still can't locate the cable in my USB port.

Also, I'm not using a TCSS rice cable, just a USB to 3.5 stereo jack.  I've used 3 different cables but can't seem to get it to locate the cable after autoscan.

Any advice?

I've seen several people trying to use a USB to jack cable that isn't a USB serial port, just a cable. Beware, that will send +5V to the board and will possibly fry it.

Such a cable will obviously not show up as a serial port in your computer.
