1. As always the Lucasfilm/Star Wars logo and theme music and crawl and especially that they were NOT preceded by the awful Disney castle/tinkerbell logo and theme music in the beginning, thank The Force.

2. Old Luke's robot-handed dehooding reveal at the end; great 'Merlin' homage moment there if you have ever seen Boorman's "Excalibur"...awesome foreshadowing of great things to come in Episode VIII.

Other goosies and shivers;

The Good; Poe, Finn, Rey, BB-8, "Garbage" aerial acrobatics, Han and Chewie, Han and Leia last goodbye, everything with the GRAFLEX [Epic Win!]

The Bad; Kylo Ren being a worse pouty spoiled brat than Hayden's Anakin in AOTC, the waste of Captain Phasma who it seemed like something more should have been done with but wasn't [cutting room floor?], Han apparently not knowing what a Wookie Bowcaster could do after 40+ years flying with Chewie?, attacking a planet sized superweapon with ONLY X-wings starFIGHTERS, no bombers and NO CAPITAL SHIPS for no apparent reason other than to look like a scene fr ANH, and of course the travesty of the STUPIDSABER [tm]

The Ugly: the ludicrous 'frozen blaster bolt' [gee if that was possible for Force users why did Old Ben even bother to teach Luke to DEFLECT blaster bolts in ANH not to mention Obi using Soresu blaster bolt deflection NOT stupid blaster bolt freezing in the PT and CW series...DOH!]

...and ugliest of all: Starkiller Base...EVERYTHING about it...shivers not goosebumps and not the good kind the kind of shivers you have just before you 'technicolour yawn' all over the screen...UGGGGH! HISS BOOO!!!

So yeah plenty of goosies and shivers in TFA...more to come in Episode VIII I'm sure.

To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...
