Custom Dark Jedi (Kel Dor species) - Now a Nautolan Too!

This is the costume I've been working on most recently. (TDA and TDE members will have already seen this).

It is a custom character that I've called "Takal Rai". He's a Kel Dor force user and I've decided to go with a Dark side character again.

At first I wanted to make a Dark Sided Nautolan, but as I was unsure where to start with making a latex mask I decided to try a Kel Dor species instead before trying the long lekku. The first mask was okay, but the sensory glands on the side of the head weren't really big enough so the version I'm using now is my Mk II if you will.
The breather and goggles were made using a mixture of card, foam and resin along witha few greeblies from the garage.

I'm using some Frank Thomas boots and a belt that I've made from faux leather.
I had to learn how to use a sewing machine to make the tabards, obi & sash.
The cloak was previously used for my Sith Acolyte costume.
The bracers were made from foam and the same canvas-like material as the obi with some scraps of metal cut and rivetted on for detail.

These photos were from it's first outdoor test in some woods, climbing trees and balancing was made more difficult by the restrictive view through the goggles:





The for Star Wars day I had my first public outing (that wasn't just a fancy dress party) in costume and it was great fun, although very hot! (I even got some cool photos with the guys in proper costumes ;) )

Haha, yeah the guy operating the awesome R2-D2 (the scout trooper in the background) kept making it scream and run away, it was entertaining.

And now I have made my own custom saber to go with this character.


2 colour options, yellow blade with orange flash on clash, or if I want to portray a full on darkside then I can switch to red blade with orange FOC. Using a Nano Biscotte V2 powered by a single Panasonic 18650, with a 4PDT (on-on) switch to swap the colours whenever required.

Using some kind of sliding switch (like the  4PDT on-on switch you used) to swap the colors is something I've considered but never actually planned out.  Can you share how you wired this configuration with the NBv2 and the power extender for FoC?  Did you use a Tri-Rebel LED?  And where does one purchase a 4PDT sliding switch?

Yeah, I had a thought about wanting to switch the LEDs used for the flash on clash and the blade LED and this seemed to be the simplest solution. This is the wiring diagram I used (edited from a someone elses standard wiring diagram with a triple LED):


I used a RRG Triple Force LED from saberproject which I believe is a triple cree.

This is the exact switch I used:

It was a bit of a squeeze fitting it into the 1 3/8ths tube, I'm sure with a bit of searching it wouldn't be too hard to find a sliding or smaller switch.
