Cool.

I should get some eggs and make a skillet out of these things....

It was asked, but it wasn't asked here specifically.

May the Bin 1 cyan RIP with its noble sacrifice for a good cause long remembered.

Yes virginia there is a heatsink in well made sabers, with good reason for proper heatsinking now proven.
To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...

I know.  But hopefully it's untimely death will help others avoid the senseless destructions of other LEDs.

PJ - the question was asked recently at TCSS and then again yesterday on another venue.

It was sacrificed for the greater good. We can observe a moment of silence for it if it'll make everyone feel better.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA, that tickled me funnybone mate!

There was a querry posed questioning the need for a heatsink, or what is or is not acceptable forms of adhesion and heat dissipation.  This should clear any questions up for everyone now and to come.

Such a pretty led....great sacrifice!

Well, if you're going to make a martyr out of an LED, make it one people will actually cry over.

Even a little Lux III is / was an important LED (way back when). Just because it's old and elderly now - it probably still works well in a little stunt somewhere.  :D

I have to echo the sentiments of others, I'll mourn that poor bin 1 cyan  :'(

Good demo though. This should be stickied at TCSS

I guess this thread is a jab at some noob who posted over at TCSS on how he doesn't want to spend money on a heatsink cause it's expensive and it is something unnecessary.  :D
