I live in a condo with a finished walk-out basement which I commandeered 1/2 of for my "shop". The lathe is actually in a  closet so when Im not working I can close the doors and the room still resembles a family room. It sucks not having a garage or real basement.

My mill is an original 1978 Bridgeport Series I Rigid Ram CNC mill.  The original reel to reel tape drive and transitorized control system has been replaced with a modern PC/Linux based computer system and DC servos.  I also plunked down the extra coinage to add a 4th axis rotary table.  Not what you would consider state of the art now, but it gets me through the day.

My lathe is a 1998 Femco Durga 25E.  It's a trick machine because it has a dual turret.  I can have up to 23 tools at a time on it (but I only have 17 set up on it right now).

I used Alibre 3d solid modelling for my models and OneCNC 3D CAD/CAM programs to generate my G-code.

I also have a no name Chinese band saw for cutting my raw stock down to manageable lengths.

Oh, and I have a Dremel too.  I use it quite a bit and it's on it's last legs.  Time to pick up a replacement and give the old one a Viking funeral.

1920s-30s LeBlond regal lathe. It was the machine that my dad learned on from his grandfather when my dad was like 10. Still works like a champ, though Im still learning how to use it and need to learn more about bit making and other techniques. My mill is fairly new, it was bought from a machine shop that had used it twice and then got a newer 3 phase machine and left this one alone. Its a Jet-16 12 speed and it was like new when I brought it home the surface had 0, zip, nada scratches on it and the accesory vice still had shipping wrap on it. It was also the heaviest thing I've EVER moved and we used the engine hoist to get it in the shop. I have 2 other drill presses, my bench grinder, the miter saw and the buffing wheel, as well as my Dremel of course, but even it is showing some wear.

You guys are giving me tool envy. ;)

That's the problem with living in a small house with my shop in the Garage...

Anyway. Her's my meager stuff.  It's not all of it.  I have other toys to play with too, but they are still in the basement shop. And it's more trashed than this one... :D

Man I wish i could have a Bridgeport! :(

This is way trashed too...  Glad I am moving the shop into an actual industrial building in the fall!  8) This is also by no means the whole thing.

Shot from Over by the Saws.

Some of the stuff I am working on right now...

Another Shot of the Bench... I wonder what's on there?  ;D

And my Krispy Kreme Doughnut sign... Circa 2000. Gifted to me by the Pervy Sage.  8)

Before anyone clowns me.  I must state that I work on Motorcycles, Cars, and fix bicycles for the neighborhood kids as well in this area so it is ALWAYS in motion here. The layout never really looks the same, and this is only half of what's here, because the parts you don't see are completely TRASHED.

And my Crate Blue Voodoo Amp and guitars. (Yes they are in the garage with the neighbor's drum kit too.) ;D

I won't lie I have wondered about what everyone has and the tools involved. I have no skill building anything but the custom saber movement does inspire me to figure out how to wire and such. Nice stuff to you all.

Oh and DT, do the kids know of your evil Sith lord ways (Forgive the joke, but that is seriously kool you help them with their bikes).

Lovin' your "Darth Ursus", DT.  I also admire your helping the neighborhood kids out --doesn't surprise me. :)

Speaking of Grizzlies, I'm curious to try the G4015Z combo this spring when I get a little more room. It's a little smaller than your model, IIRC. How do you like the Grizzly? Runout?

For really small parts, I was contemplating getting a mini-mill (Sherline 10") and maybe Sherline's 3.5x8 lathe, and mounting those beside my larger mill/lathe combo I currently have (ShopFox). I can outfit the larger setup for hilts, and the smaller setup for details like chambers, pommels, claws, prototyping, etc.
