Sids for Korbanth

Okay, I know everyone is patiently waiting so I wanted ot get this posted.  The first is Korbanth's Sid with sound.  It has an MR Yoda board and 3W Red along with 3.7V Li-ion.  It is the testbed for the switch solution that I chose for the installs that I and the installers will be doing.  The CS and NB versions will have the option of having the accent LEDs lit.  These are great little sabers to be sure and Korbanth's unit with sound is the polished version, while the stunt is "stock".  The stunt uses a Polulu board and the same hidden switch solution as the sound fx versions. It also has the same LED in this case, although any 3W red will do nicely.

The Particulars:
Korbanth Sid (1 polished and 1 stock finish)
MR Yoda sound (Fx) and Polulu board (stunt)
3W Red LDM brand LED (both)
LDM HO 20mm Speaker w/3/4" Resonance
14500 3.7V, 900 mAh Li-ion w/hidden 2.1mm recharge/kill in the Fx version and a 3aaa holder in the Stunt
Custom Optics Modules

Don't hurry me that much, I'm too swamped to do more than 'watch the cool pics' ;)

Nice solution for the switches, me like :))
Life is but a series of missed opportunities.

These are great Marc!  I'm staring at my empty right now and once the funds recoup will be looking to light it up.  Nice work.

Thanks guys.  I was indeed hoping for a bit of feedback on the switch solution.  I.e. do people l like it, etc.  Korbanth is good with it, so I know that much.  I personally really like it and will be doing it that way in mine (whenever that may be, lol) and it will allow me to light the accent LEDs up for people as well.  I could probably use the accent LEDs too, but that is a heady proposition and that particular type of switch tends to get wonky after a few months, so I prefer not to build a thing that I know has a planned obsolescence factor of 1/4 (~3 months).

The switch placement is a good idea. And if it allows the accent LEDs to be lit up, then its better than something where they wouldn't be. :)

Yeah, everyone seems to want something different.  That is making my life difficult at the moment, lol.

As to the LEDs as the switches...it all comes down to if a person wants them lit.  If everyone just wanted them as non-lit switches, then it would be no problem.  Unfortunately, that is not the case so I had to devise a legitimate way to have switches AND lit accent LEDs all within ~4" x 7/8" of space...fun, lol.

Thanks, very nice work. But I would prefer lightning accent leds as switches for my sid, if possible. Lightning for those leds isn't so important for me than to use those leds as swiches. Would be great, if both is possible. Extra funds are no problem.
May I ask when the installs on the other sids will start?

I would prefer the leds be usable I don't care if the light up or not on mine.

OK, I'll try.  Sid installs have to start after Vindican is finished.  That is hopefully only a week or so away, then i need to coordinate with installers and get rolling.  I am doing my best and have not forgotten you guys.  I have had to deal with some issues at work, which have been draining my time but they are nothing that will affect things long term.  It is, however, affecting the start of the Sid installs (time wise).  Also, now that i have to figure out a new switch solution, the work that i have done on a tutorial for my installers is wasted and will have to be totally redone, so that just takes me more time.  It is what it is and I want you folks to be happy with these, is I will make it happen if it is within my power to do  so.
