Problems on Prizm 5.1 ( No sound coming from speaker )
« on: February 26, 2018, 08:48:45 AM »
Hi,
I am writing this on behalf of a friend, facing issue with Prizm 5.1 installation.
Below are the issue faced and troubleshooting done.
-----------------------------
I am using the KRsabers 20 mm speaker.
The LED is RGDb.
Accent pads use all of 1 to 4.
All but the speaker are operating normally. Since the speaker is exchanged, it should not be the cause.
Does anyone have the same experience as my trouble? Is there any improvement plan?

These are the couple of things I tried to troubleshoot.
[1] I replaced the speaker.
[2] Replaced the recharge port.
[3] Updated data on the SD card.
[4] Override We confirmed the data. The numerical value of Vol is 4.
I did these many times.
And I replaced it with a new sound card. However, it has not been improved.
------------------------

It sounds like the Amp could have been blown somehow, or there is a issue with the wiring to the speaker.

I find your arguments vague and unconvincing.

Quiet! *Slap* And there’s a fresh one if you mouth off again.

I think I've replied to this by private message but I'm not sure as I was out of town and I was not fully behind my email

Probably a fried amplifier indeed most likely a polarity inversion or a recharge port issue combined with an automatic charger

Thank you for the pointers. I'll get my buddy to check on these.

Hi Erv,
There isn't conductivity on the speaker pad. This was tested using a multimeter.

you're not supposed to have conductivity there if the speaker isn't wired to the speaker pads. Otherwise you would read the speaker impedance.
Measure each pad against the ground, with the speaker not connected

please post macro pictures of the board top and bottom

Check the solder underneath the board didn't get into the SD card holder or made Bridges of some sort because it seems that you have a lot of solder in there.

Hi Erv,
Please see updated pictures of the soundboard. There isn't any bridging or contact with the sd card holder.
SD card is able to enter the sd card holder without issue.
Oh one other issue, he mentions that the condenser feels hot.

probably a fried amp then (reverse polarity applied to the board or high voltage)
