A fishing rod case should work well too.  They are well padded,  the only prob might be the hilt diameter fitting but the ones I have seen look close to fitting.

I do like this bat tube ,and it's clear on the one side.so I wouldn't have to take anything out.may Dad just said I could have one of his luggage gun cases,So that would work even better :)

Remeber you want to blend in if you are going to try to carry on it.   gun case will draw lots of attention from everyone.  But if checking by all means.  But don't forget the guys behind the front counter.  they can peak at anything they want to.  A fishing rod is less appealing to a baggage handler thief than a gun.  Just some toughts.  The few times I have checked my bags they got pilfered.  Both times out a Miami on American.  A year later I saw a Dateline special regarding stolen luggage at MIA by American.

Maybe I should stick with the bat tube then.I got a Photography luggage bag. I Got eveything in that.All of the small bags fit in that and the tube.
