Revanous by Saber Concepts
« on: September 01, 2011, 05:03:37 PM »
Reavanous was inspired by some Darth Revan sabers I made in the past.  This one has some major differences though.  It has a choke just above the pommel and 2 brass parts.  This saber actually has a total of 8 parts.  I am using a petite crouton and an Endor Cyan LED powered by 2 14500 Li-Ions and 2 purple ring AV switches.  The AV switches were resistored for 12 volts and were very dim using the accent pads on the PC.  To make them brighter I used 2 power xtenders and hot glued them together back to back to take up less room.  I didn't want to risk trying to remove the resistor in the switch and I didn't have any NPN transistors at the time, so I had to use power xtenders.  I still have to weather it and then it will be done.

EDIT:  The render was made by Mihunai and he did an awesome job of giving it some of the Revan features but yet making it a completely different saber.  Many thanks go to him for his hard work on making this and several other renders for me.

Absolutely love this saber.  I mean..big time.  Great job Wade.  I think honestly, even though it is a Revan like saber, I like it more than Revan's actual saber.  That's saying alot considering that's one of the last 2 dream sabers I need.  Keep up the good work. ;D

That's a cool rendition of Revan's saber. I own one of Francisco's versions.
I think the weathering should just be subtle, not too much.
Nice job Rhyen.
Thank you Photobucket for the best Sig ever!

Here are some pics and a video of the saber weathered.  I still have to adjust the swing settings.

I just got this in today. It is very impressive, and a great Revan. I am interested in a "clean" version to match, and as luck would have it there is a perfect Rebellion run saber going on right now:)

I'll be doing some vids soon. My first thought, however, is a saber this epic needs a CF. look for some interesting things in the near future from this hilt.
