SOLVED: Nano Biscotte V4 Not Making Sound
« on: August 13, 2018, 08:03:07 PM »
I just wired up my nano biscotte and its not making any sound. the LEDs are behaving normally with flicker and clash so I know I didnt ruin the board. I looked at other threads and I saw that If I fried the amp there would be bubbling but there isnt any on mine so idk if that could be it? could I just have done a bad job soldering the speaker? I'll get pics in the morning since I stashed it away for the night and I'm about to go to bed.

You dont necessarily have a bubble, it depends (tm)
Frying the amp usually occurs with battery polarity inversion or excessive voltage sent by the charger

This is probably a stupid question but wouldn't either a battery inversion or excess voltage cause other problems too?

Usually not since my boards and parts are pretty sturdy the front regulator could not like it however
The audio amplifier is in Frontline so this is why it doesn't like excessive voltage or inversion of polarity

Well I havent charged it yet and I dont understand how a battery could inverse its polarity, I think I might have just messed up soldering the leads onto the speaker? I hope its that simple

Here's the best pic i could get without taking it out of the chassis? do you see anything wrong with it?

I don't see anything obvious. The only thing I'm thinking off is that you could have insisted too much on the speaker pads solder joints, and desoldered a bit the audio amp.

you can try to resolder the audio amp leads on the speaker pads side. I generally apply solder on all 4 and then remove the excess with solder braid. The 2 outer ones go to the speaker pads, the 2 inner are connected together and go to the GND. The outer (speaker) must NEVER touch the ground.

NP, at least, nothing is fried and your board works, so that's good news
