Graflex 2.0 Heatsink Options?
« on: January 04, 2016, 08:34:32 AM »
Hey all.  Got a Graflex 2.0 in hand and 3 more on the way and am just wondering what people are using for Heatsink solutions?  If anyone has a source for a heatsinks that are compatible let me/us know.

Thanks!

Looks like Justin is producing more of his 7/8" heatsinks, his Etsy page shows sold out but more coming mid-January. These are well worth it, I picked up a handful last time he offered them.

FOR SALE 7/8" Aluminum Heatsinks (needed for Graflex 2.0&Crossguard install)

I picked up an extra from Justin last time for just this reason and will be what I will use too...was well made, imo should be popular with people who have bought this kit.

Any idea if and when these will be back in stock?

what about something like this? they're 20mm in diameter and 15mm tall - I'm thinking that this could actually mount directly to the top of Rylo's chassis.

The problem with this is you'll have no protection between the blade when inserted and the lens. Of you glue your lens in with a thermal adhesive it will just be sitting on top of your led and this heatsink. Fisrt hit on the blade and it will most likely break the lens off. Justin's heatsinks are really good and they have a slight lip once the led and lens are inserted and adhered. The blade rests on that lip and doesn't touch the lens. Be patient,, Justin's heatsinks will stock soon, don't jump the gun and use something that will not be smart for the long run. Tcss is also designing and releasing a 7/8 heatsink module with a copper heatsink and lens mount. Should come out next week
