Okay, So far this is the research I have done in regards to a clamp solution.
There are two ways to go about it, so I'll keep it short and simple, with little detail. This gives one just enough to let their imagination and creavtivity flow.
Option 1:
This involves using the stock activation box. First, you want to find some good sheet metal stock. Measure the circumference of the hilt in the position where the clamp is going to be placed. Take that measurment and lay it flat on your sheet metal stock.
Make sure that you make markings for your cutout sections on the graflex clamp (tab holes and slot). Cut those tabs and slot into the sheet strip....
Wrap the strip around the hilt bodyand take note of where the stock screw holes are. Index them with a center punch on the sheet strip and drill your holes. Make sure you have a cutout for the wiring to pass through, and mount your control box on top of the band you made... You may need to find longer screws to mount it with, but I think you get the point.
This offers the "look" of the saber having the clamp a much lees cost and work than finding an ESB clamp.
Option 2:
THis also involves using sheet-metal but in this one you are fabricating the WHOLE clamp. This will require precise bending of the metal, so a bending brake may be necessary (though NOT required) to make your job easier.
