I'm pretty sure I found it with Google...

I saw a kid running around Spencer's Gifts with an Anakin ROTS.  He wouldn't put it down or keep still enough for me to get a good look at it.  That night I came home,  found this site and read about all the different models.  I was amazed that there was more than just one. How could I have missed these?! I knew that day I was going to have one.  After reading about the newly released Luke ROTJ, I armed myself with a Borders coupon (found on this forum) and headed off to meet my destiny with the Luke ROTJ.  Somehow, I came home with an Anakin :)  never regretted that purchase...

Oh yeah... I forgot the original question... I came here by way of Google.

Can't forget that this site has saved me money buying the Luke ROTJ with the borders 15% off coupon and then obtaining the Luke ESB from MR at a retail price, rather than spending more than $180 on it.

You hit the nail right on the head there... this site has helped me not only with a wealth of knowledge about FX Sabers, but also have saved me $$ in the process.  I bought my first saber with a 15% off coupon from here (the cashier upgraded me to a 25% for some reason), the second saber with a $30 discount listed here, and the fourth saber with info about the "warehouse find" Luke ESB found here also.  My third saber deal, I found on my own, but that info was my very first post to the fx-sabers forum.
I'll be posting a Borders 30% off coupon in Internet/Ebay finds in the next few minutes if anyone's interested.

When I got my Anakin I saved about 25 from a coupon here.  I forget how I found about this site, it was back in July I know that, I think I was doing a google search for more Fx sabers and it came up with this site.

It was all happened when I first saw the FX lightsabers are on the Future Shop's and Best Buy's flyers. Before I consider of buying one of them, I went to have a little research on those FX lightsabers on net and there I came up to the FX sabers main site. Shortly after, I discovered this forum from the main site and that how I found out about this forum myself. ;)

I found this site really just out of pure interest in these sabers.  I knew I wanted one and I knew I wanted to know everything about um until I could buy one.  And coming across the forums there just seems to be a really good environment of people giving all sorts of helpful advice.  And its this advice that just made me want to get one of these sabers even more.  So yeah pure interest in Star Wars and the jedi ways and arts is what drove me here.

GameFAQs also, here.

Hey Qui-Gon....just wondering....what do you do with all of those FX sabers you have?    I have three and can barely even find room for them.   I'm likely going to purchase a bookshelf or something with many tiers and a glass casing to keep my sabers safe from my cats jumping and knocking things down.

...I wish I had all of the sabers you do.   Just in case one of mine breaks.... but, hopefully they won't, since I never swing hard, and never hit things harder than needed for the sensor to go off.

The force led me here.... What?... It didnt lead you all here?? haha,j/k. The first night  I saw an  FX I bought it, then I got home and googled it, like alot of you did. But I first stumbled on a site called firebox.com, which had peoples pics videos and comments. I thought it was cool, but the entire site wasnt devoted to FXs. And you couldnt message anyone else..This site was the second site I found, and for some reason I cant stop coming back here..But it does by far rule the web for the object of our obsession!

I got mine from the Search Engine while looking for Info on the 2002 Anakin AOTC, which I won on eBay in Nov. of 2005. It popped up, I saw some awesome topics about saber collectors sharing their wares in an enthusiastic approach! And back then, there were not nearly as many topics as there is now.

I can trace the exact "trajectoiry" as it were:

1. 1999: when I got my first computer and first got online, my natural interest in Star Wars and light sabers led me to the Parks Sabers site. At the time, I was young and broke, so I only admired them in pictures.

2. 2000-2006: The Dark Years. By the time I'd started to make a little disposable income, I'd forgotten about Parks and never much thought about light sabers.

3. Sept. 2007: Channel surfing, I saw MR Force-FX sabers for the first time on Home Shopping Network. I was blown away. Sturdy, metal "replica" hilts just like Parks, with sound! But though impressed, it had been years since thinking about light sabers and I just didn't have the impulse to purchase one.

4. Oct. 2007: I couldn't get those MR sabers out of my mind. One day, I searched youtube for "working light sabers" (I couldn't remember the names MR or Force-FX). The first search result I watched was by 'cafeledavid' -- who I would later know as forum member "Darth Akira." To my surprise it was a review not of MRs, but something called Ultra Sabers. I googled, and found the Ultra Sabers forums, which I read through for a good week before really realizing -- stupid me -- that it was part of a larger forum, FX-Sabers.

Long story short I bought my first FX saber -- an UltraFX Vader ANH w/ Sunrider's Desinty and Anakin chrome emitter shroud, still one of my favorites -- and I never looked back.

The End  ;D

I have told this tale on a few topics here, but since this is Master Fisto's Topic and poll, I will have to post it here too! Since HE'S partially responsible! 8)

Summer of 2002:  I was shopping at my local Meijer store and stumbled across a new product they had just got off the truck.  My Wife was with me, and we had just gotten married, Were still in college, and had no money. Now she had already known that I was a Big time SW Geek, and all around Sci-Fi Buff, and actually was the one that pointed them out.  Sitting there reverently on the freshly stocked shelf was... The Anakin AOTC Display model!

I had a geek FIT!  I stood there swinging that saber for a good 30 minutes! Sadly, I had just bought books for my last year at Ball State, so we were actually there to pick up some Ramen... LOL

Fast forward a few years to 2005: I was walking through a Borders bookstore and saw the New Anakin ROTS, a few older Luke ESB's and A Mace Windu.  Sadly I was between pay periods with my new Job in the Video Game section at Toys R' Us, and had just started a new management position at Hollywood Video... No money again. Bummer.

While working at Hollywood Video, I got into doing repairs on PS2's and Gameboy advance. With a few Xbox systems for good measure thrown in.  I was doing a repair for a friend of mine, but he was low on cash.  He comes in to pick up his PS2, and lo and Behold He is Holding an Anakin AOTC! HE hands it to me, and Tells me I can have it in trade for the repairs... Needless to say, I ended up giving him a few extra low priced games as well!

Christmas 2006:  I give the Anakin AOTC to my brother because he wanted it so badly, and started scouring ebay and the interwebs for a newer model.  The Anakin ROTS Caught my eye.  I dropped hints to everyone in my family that I wanted a Force FX Lightsaber.

I didn't get one...

So On my Birthday (January 19th or 2007) I purchased a Force FX ANakin ROTS from a one mrgriffin on ebay.  That in itself was the Will of the Force! I will get to that in a moment!

After a few days of owning this wonderful new toy of mine, I accidentally hit a low tree branch while spinning outside my old house. It was rather cold, and the blade cracked as it popped about 5 LED's at the tip... I was Devastated!

I frantically started searching the internet for a possible way to repair the saber! I stumbled upon Force-FX.com and the Jedi Archives forums. Administrated by our Very own Kit Fisto!  I got sucked in! While looking for a way to fix my Anakin ROTS, I came across the mention of a company called Ultra Sabers! I was blown away!  While researching more about them I came across another post by a dual member of the Archives and Here by the name of RED FIVE.  His post was about Yoda's GRAFLEX sabers! I HAD TO CHECK IT OUT! I looked at the site but didn't join yet. I was in AWE of Master Yoda's Sabers But could not afford them at the time.

I went back to Ultra Sabers and ordered a DIY conversion kit for my Anakin, and ended up buying a Vader ESB and Luke ROTJ on ebay that same day.  I got my kit, and installed it successfully: A Sabersmith was born that day...

February 2007: While surfing around on the Ultra Sabers Website for more cool stuff, I ran across a link for FX-Sabers again!  I went ahead and signed up under the user Name: Darth Morbius, same as my Jedi Archives Screen name, of course. I found quite a few helpful tutorials here and began buying FX's left and right. Soon I was selling parts in the Trade Federation and offering tips and advice to those looking to upgrade their sabers.

A few months later I was asked by Yoda to become a moderator because I had impressed the Moderation team.  Along with me came Admiral Piett (Now Grand Moff Tarkin), Owen Lars, and there was someone else...

I became Darth Tyranus!

I then started hanging out in the Ultra Sabers Topics rendering assistance and Before I knew it I was teamed up with Darth Vader, and was an official Liaison for Ultra Sabers. Some time went by and events occurred, Vader Stepped away to press on the Rebel Alliance and blow up some planets... While I was introduced to my First Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn!

A little more time passed and I met Jango Fett and we are now the Liaison team for Ultrasabers!

Now.  Remember how I mentioned the seller of my FIrst Anakin ROTS?  mrgriffin?  I came to find that the VERY same mrGriffin that sold me my lightsaber, was in fact... The original Governor Tarkin, Moderator, for FX-Sabers!  He also lived not too far North of me here in Indiana!  Talk about coincidence?  No... More like the WILL of the FORCE!

It was more like FX-Sabers was waiting for ME to join! The others just helped to guide me! ;D

Saw an UltraSabers You-Tube vid... went to their website... Clicked on the "FORUMS" link...
And further down the rabbit hole...

It's easy to lose track of time just surfing through the threads, learning about the awesome technology and "toys" that weren't available when we were "kids".  But, at least now I have a job to pay for my toys; no one to ask "permission to buy"...

except the wife, I guess...  :D

Awesome site, outstanding informative, family FORUM.  Great folks...

Back in 2006, I went looking on ebay for a cheap hasbro saber to compliment my Qui-Gon. What I found out was that there were realistic sabers called FX. I wanted more info before buying one - did a search and I found my way here. Home sweet home.

Not sure how I missed this thread but I found the site through a google search when trying to learn about what I was bidding for on Ebay.   Also in my quest to build a graflex ESB.

So Google for me.

Well I have a small story with my visit here.

It begins a few years back when I went into a Spencers back home and found the display they were showing of a MR. I will be honest I can't say which model it was but it was so freaking awesome to hold in my hand. I was blown away by it but was more broke than I should have been so I blocked it from my mind. Also no one could tell me the company or anything because the cardbord display had been basically destroyed and they just had it on a table.

Move forward in time I am with my now wife (then girlfriend) and we are returning to our college from a weekend trip home. And we are trying to find a parking spot (very difficult any time of the day, but immpossible at 1am) when we see lights dancing all over. I go and check it out, discovering that it is practice night for a group of saber lovers on campus.

I am immediately drooling, sabers you can actually duel with!!! Well I ask around campus and I end up bumping into one of the members of the group. He has a saber from some company called Ultra Sabers that has been converted or some such. Well I mean to write that down but I forget and time moves forward again.

Halloween comes to my campus and my lady and I go in costumes (Non SW) and there is a Sith Lord in the costume contest that I was also in. Well after the contest is over I have to ask him about the saber, well he tells me again about Ultra Sabers. This time I don't forget it and I find the site and drool more.

Ultra posted something about the forums on the page so I check it out and that leads me here. I have been an off again on again member for a while now. I really drove my wife nuts about this place (I tend to geek out easily) and I decided to lay off a while. But after seeing Ultra's new commercial on YouTube I am back and planning on sticking around.

Sorry for the long windedness ya'll.

Hey, almost the same as me! Only I was a year later, in 2007.

My best friend and I had used the Hasbro plastic sabers for years (since way back in 1999), and I was looking for a replacement blade for my Obi-Wan TPM. I had first seen the Force FX sabers back in December of 2003 (Luke ROTJ and Vader ANH), but they were $300 a pop--way out of my league. But I began to see MR FX sabers on eBay priced for under $100; the gears in my head began to spin, the money in my pocket began to burn. I saw the Joe Jedi, but wanted to read a review before I bought it. I Googled "fx lightsaber" and found "FX-Sabers." Though I was thoroughly disappointed by the old home page, the forums truly impressed me. And I've been hooked ever since.

Because of this site, I've spent hundreds of dollars on lightsabers...the "Honorable Mentions" are in my sig.  ;D

And that best friend of mine...he's now the proud owner of an MR Luke ROTJ and an MR Luke ANH.  8)

When I first found out about MR's I looked them up on YouTube to see some videos with them. I also found Ultra's demo of the US 2.0 video. I had no idea what that was but I knew that the soundboard was awesome! So I clicked on Ultra's profile and then the link to his website and pretty soon I knew a bit about Luxeon lightsabers. And then like most people I clicked the big "FORUM" link and was brought here! ;D

I'll add my story here, even though its an old post.

Was looking for a yoda fx saber for my son.  While on ebay I saw a few custom sabers, and though to myself.  Why would I buy a saber my son would break anyways?  I found a few custom sabers that were listed as 'battle ready'

Bought a few, from saberforge, then decided I wanted something special for myself.  Found a few different dealers, and one had a link to this site and then my eyeballs imploded from pure awesomeness.

Something like that

I found this forum completely by accident. When I recently baught my Obi-Wan lightsaber for my Obi-Wan Costume, I noticed that it was made by Hasbro. Completely in shock about that (because my Vader saber was made by MR) I went on a search about it all. I first found out that MR was not making the fx series anymore, then I found sites that converted sabers to duel, and then found this site. I am really glad that I did because it has shown me a whole new universe that I was not aware of. Plus it gave me insight of prices for converted sabers and what coversions best suited me, and what to look for on conversion sites. There are a lot of sites out there robbing people! There is one in particular that charges nearly 200 to convert sabers and they are not as good as Ultrasabers. How sad is that?

I read a ton of threads and after months and months of looking, I decided to finally sign up last fall.
I like it here a lot.  ;D

BTW TO THE ADMINS / MODS: Whether it was, a new server company, or whatever you did, the site loads very fast now! I like it here a thousand times more now over last year! Great job! It really is a pleasure to search now.

Last year I was just frustrated because I liked it here but it took forever (worse than dial-up) to get a page to load when searching for info. Now it runs like it was on my local cable network. Like a Ferrari!

Ah....brings back old memories....to quote my 1st post....

Hi all. I've been lurking here for some time now. Thought I'd say hi by being member 600 =)

I bought my first FX (Anakin ROTS) almost a year ago and bought both the Vader ESB and Luke ROTJ for my B-day this year.

Oh yeah...b/c I saw someone mention this earlier... I'm also a transformers fan (and I have a takara 20th masterpiece optimus prime)

I'd been lurking since mid 2005 right before I picked up my MR Anakin ROTS when they came out.

I Finally joined just after my b-day in 2006. Became a MOD in 2007.

I intially ran accross this site while looking for better info on MR FX lightsabers. Where does the time go?? Member 600?? I'd forgotten about that....  :o

I'm sure I've probably answered this thread before at some point . two paths led here:  (1) the picture archive at force-fx.com had a link to this forum and (2) I broke my first saber, anakinAOTC, and I came here for technical advice on how to fix it.  that saber remains broken.  I bought a second to replace it; the second one arrived with no sound (common for the model).  so now I had two broken AOTC's.   so I bought anakin ROTS instead, and then, every saber that MR ever made. plus a few hasbros. and a few ultrasabers.  I probably have about 30 sabers in the house. (who's counting?) seems I'm still searching for something that was lost. (?)

How did I find the FX-sabers forum? I bought a battle damaged Maul from Borders, back in '06.

It was the last one in stock and it was only $60. I was hooked after waving it around and showing it off to people.
I wanted to get another saber so badly. I went to Borders a few weeks later and they never got a new shipment
of sabers in after I bought the BD Maul (even to this day! Seriously, I went in last saturday. No sabers).

So I went to Toys 'r' Us and bought the last two sabers they had (The 30th Luke and Vader ANH). Not liking where this was going, I knew I wasn't going to come across another saber in my area for awhile. So I went online to find other places to buy sabers and discovered fx-sabers.com. I read through the forum, liked what I saw, joined up, and the rest is history.

I typed lightsabers in youtube search engine and a Yoda 4.1 CF ESB lightsaber videos poped up.  I happen to watch all videos with a CF and came across Jango Fett saber CF videos and at the end of one video he said for sale on FX-Sabers Forum.  I joined the Forum and I'm hooked always checking to see what other members are selling and saying.  When Yoda was selling  his Graflex CF I had a chance to buy one but did't MANUP  :'(  Now waiting for someone to sale one  ;D

I was on ultrasabers.com one day, clicked the forum link and BAMN.. here

Me too....

I think I found it through looking for duelists in the Austin TX area at the same time - it was a search overload.

I first came across the FX-Sabers forum by reading posts in the TCSS forum.  There were (and are still) a lot of folks between both forums that share their talents and appreciation of all things "saber".  I certainly have benefited from their knowledge.

The story of how I found this site starts 10 years ago when I was about 21 years old.

I really became a huge Star Wars fan when I was 16. I saw bits of the movies earlier in life, but thought it was all 'muppets' and stupid stuff like that. I thought it was like the Muppet Show only in space. I guess I was only catching some corny bits of ROTJ back in the '80's on T.V. and thought 'this isn't for me'.

Then, when I was 16 riding my bike all over town, I would stop at Blockbuster video and purchase used VHS tapes that they had in a special bin. You know.. all their previously viewed tapes. At that time, they had brand new versions of the movies in widescreen format and they had all three Star Wars movies in one package with the vader helmet on the front. Some of you might know what I am talking about.
I picked up the tapes and went home to watch (to give the movies another chance, since I was 'older').
After seeing fully the complete story (complete for the time, the prequels were still 5 years away), I fell in love with the movies. I loved the idea of Jedi, the Force, the whole mystical aspect. I loved how only a VERY FEW in the galaxy could be a Jedi. I also fell in love with lightsabers. That, to me, was the ultimate weapon.

When I moved out and got my own place with some roomates, some friends from high school, my Star Wars addiction had not been reduced at all. In fact, being an artist with a crazy imagination, I constantly drew Jedi and Star Wars scenes and also played every Star Wars video game since the first Super Nintendo Star Wars game. I always imagined how I would be if I was a Jedi in that galaxy far away. In fact, I thought I was. I just thought I was a Jedi trapped on this planet and stripped of my Force powers  ???
One roommate I had also loved Star Wars. I probably fed his hunger for more Star Wars because I am a total Star Wars freak. By this time, it was 2000 or 2001 and the first of the prequels was released so my infatuation with SW was getting worse,... or greater, depending on how you look at it ::)

The internet was still kind of new, not everyone was online like they are now. I began searching for realistic lightsaber prop replicas.
I found some cheesy website advertising replica Graflex hilts with an EL blade setup. The company was in the UK, and I don't recall the name. I ordered one.
After my roommate and I waited like 8 months for the lightsaber, we would constantly discuss how great it would be when it finally came. We ended up having to call over to some town outside of London to inquire 'Where was my saber?'. We found it strange when the voice of the person on the other end sounded like they were 12 years old. I put my roommate on the phone  :P because I didn't think I would ever get the saber.
Well, I did get the saber, and it was the GREATEST! We ended up ordering a couple more blade colors, and my roommate got his own in 2002 from Parks. It used the same EL blades with the microphone jack at the end, and his hilt looked the same only it was twice as bright because it used 2 9V batteries instead of one.

Now I started to wonder... we sent men to the moon... why didn't we have a more realistic lightsaber toy???? Like, with SOUND!!!?
Up to that point, we were just doing the BA-ZOOMs and the BUZZZzzzzes ourselves.

I'm really Star Wars crazy, so these things were always on my mind.
Then, the MR sabers came out, so I picked up a Luke ROTJ that I planned to give my little 5 year old cousin for his birthday. I knew if I was five, I would BUG OUT if someone gave me a saber like that. I think this was early 2004.
It was cold that winter, and I couldn't help myself from trying out the saber (that was supposed to be a gift).
So... outside in the backyard, with a giggly gaggling group of drunk friends, it was ME VS. my ROOMMATE on the patio. Me, with the gift saber (MR) and my buddy with his saber (the Parks).
Needless to say, the MR shattered on the 5th or 6th impact and there was plastic and electroluminescent paper everywhere (if I remember correctly those were paper then and not led strings, someone correct me if I'm wrong).
SO... now I have no saber gift. No choice but to buy two more! One for the little boy, and an Anakin for myself.

If I knew back then that the soundboards could be salvaged, I would have done so, but I didn't know it so I threw out the broken saber. Succeeded in busting the Anakin AOTC also in another duel vs the Parks, and threw out the handle.

Ok, so now it's time to go back to college to get my degree, so there was no time for lightsabers for couple years even though I kept track of the new ones coming out from MR.

And that is the extent (in my mind) of the progression of saber technology. I thought... "That's it. That's as far as they are going to go with these." I must have been crazy, because even though I had LED flashlights, and many LED gadgets, I didn't put two and two together. I had no idea sabers were going LED, too.

All until very early 2010, when I started searching YouTube for lightsaber or SW videos. I came across ALOT. I saw Novastar, Erv, lots of happy LED saber customers with their prizes and I was floored. I was like... how could I be so stupid! I should have been paying closer attention! But at that point, I dove straight in, doing Google searches, and finding Saberforge, UltraSabers, Gemini Concepts, Vader's Vault, and other sites. I saw Nova's videos on how to solder a CF board and I was like: what is that!!!? Oh my I saw that on YouTube, that's the sickest!

I was totally hooked and wanted to know MORE. I found out about Crystal focus, UltraSounds, and Hyperblade components.
I thought to myself: "Self: you gotta get you one of these!" I also thought, "No biggie, I'll buy 20 Crystal Focus boards tomorrow and start building me sabers". LOL

That's when I found these forums. It took alot of reading but I eventually learned that, no, you won't be buying 20 CFs or 20 anything for that matter - All soundcards are always sold out. Haha.
I liked the fact that there are over 5,000 SW fans nutty enough to love lightsabers as much as me and in many cases, met people far more into this than I am.

So, just like many others on here FX Saber forums has become part of my daily routine for the past year or so. Productivity at work has fallen below 50%, and just like before, all I think about is lightsabers. That's where all my funds go also. I sort of resolved lately to not keep more than 8 sabers at a time, because I only have 2 arms, hehe. But I love everyone on here and all the sabersmiths and sellers are fantastic.
I'm always getting stuff from TCSS, Hyperdyne, Makoto and other sabersmiths have my orders. And have only had GREAT experiences with every member on here. Can't wait to see what the future will bring!

Potentially a little longer of story than the simple topic of this section was asking for, but I thought I would start at the beginning.

I first saw the mr sabers when they 1st came out yrs ago and I was like pfft no way will I ever get one of those,
They were really expensive, then a good while later just as master replica lost the rights to build them I saw them for £30 each and bought my 1st Luke anh graflex.

Once I opened the box I new this was something I wanted to be "in to" and it went from there I started scouring the web for info and I think I stumbled across this forum on YouTube while checking out someones custom sabre and as they say " the rest is history"

And I gotta say its one addictive hobby

I'm not sure exactly how it all started. I've been a Star Wars fan as long as I can remember. However I never really thought about getting any "gear" until recently; only thing I knew existed was those crappy Lightsabers with coned blades.

A while back I started to hang on the Mandalorian Mercs forum. I can't really remember how I found it, but I knew I wanted to build my own Mandalorian armor. I started to plan and get parts for it. I knew pretty fast that it was going to be a long term project (not finished but I have a good idea what I want to do). Then I saw an Ultrasabers Prophecy on their trade forum, and I knew that I needed it, so I bought it. Since then I started to look deeper and got myself a few ultrasabers before I found TCSS and FX-Sabers forum.

Now it's not an intrest any more, it's an addiction. I have yet to complete my first MHS, but I'm on a good way and just ordered the last few bits for it. Joining the QGJ run also was a good way for me to both add to the community and get hold of a CFv5 :)

Mandalorian armor will have to wait, got some Lightsaber projects to finish first :)

Thanks for your time.
Tobias

I saw ROTJ in the theater as a kid (I was 5 then) and remember how cool the Ewoks were (I was 5 then!) and how Darth Vader gave me the creeps.  Around that same time my parents would buy me the original Kenner Star Wars toys if I had good grades.  The toys started mounting up...I had (and these were all brand new) Millenium Falcon, Y-wing, B-wing, X-wing, TIE Interceptor, TIE Fighter, Imperial Shuttle, Yoda's lair, Snow Speeder, A-Wing, full size AT-AT and probly quite a few more I can't recall.  Amongst all that I had nearly every 3 1/2" figure that they made and every version of the main characters.  I even became a member of the Bantha Tracks Star Wars fan-club.  And of course I saw Return to Endor.

Then sadly as I was nearing my teens my parents told me that since I didn't play with my SW toys anymore they were going to sell them...and sell them they did....ALL of them.  Fast forward 10 years and TPM came out...I had tickets to the midnight showing on the first day of release that I had won in a Radio contest where I stumped the DJ by asking him what character's callsign was Red 2 in ANH.  For as long as I can remember I felt that if I had died before I got to see Ep. I, II, and III my soul would never rest!  Stood in line for 2 hours to try to get good seats and as the lights went dark I remember feeling like I was 5 all over again, the green Lucasfilm label flashed on the screen and then the opening theme music began....

After episodes II and III came out I was happy to know that the story was now complete.  I had seen the MR hilts at Hastings and various other stores but I couldn't justify paying $120+ for something that just seemed like a play toy at the time.  My passion faded a bit as things often do when you hold a full time job that takes you all around the world.  About a year ago a buddy of mine who is big into COS play was designing his own Darth Malgus costume and he introduced me to Vader's Vault, JQ and a couple others.  From there I found this forum and my passion has been re-ignited!

Oh, and my parents still kick themselves in the butt for making me sell all my vintage SW toys that would probly make me a small fortune today....

I've been an uber Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember, going back to the VHS vs BetaMax wars.  I've always wanted to have my own saber, I've collected the books, the movies, the video games, and spent countless hours drawing pictures of what I thought MY saber should look like.  I put together a few of my own sabers (simple sink tube sabers with only a few LEDs on the hilt, and no sound). One night not too long ago I was curious as to whether anyone had built a Corran Horn saber, and since he has been my favourite character since the release of "I, Jedi", I figured if there was any saber I would want to drop some money on it would be that one.  That was when I discovered Madcow's amazing creation via Youtube.  After sending Rob an email about the availability (and finding out how badly I had missed the boat on that one) he pointed me to the forum, and now I've got two sabers from Darth Maul, and two more being commissioned for my wedding by Ducos Rossis.  (And I now spend every free moment reading the forums. Lol.)

I've had a few MR lighsabers and have enjoyed them, but, for years, I had wanted to build a custom lightsaber.  That desire grew stronger when I began playing The Old Republic in late 2011.

As time went on, I started to learn of various saber crafters and metal workers that actually commissioned builds.  Some of them were awe inspiring.  I also became more familiar with some of the major players in the industry, like Vader's Vault.  Learning more about the industry lead to to sites like FX-Sabers and IRA.

I am currently commissioning my very first custom build.  I've been working with Wes at Nocturne Armory since late August and I'm really excited about what is coming together...
